Chit Chat / Re: THE SHOPPING THREAD :-)

My AF is still going strong. A piece of wire came loose in the basket so DH just wove it back into the mesh. I would buy another one if it dies.
I think I will blow the $$$ and get a mini pie maker next time I am near a K mart. I can give it lots of uses.

Good on you Chookie. A friend has a new one that isnít digital. She had 2 digital ones and they both died. She has had better luck with the non digital.  She bakes everything in it.

I bought the Pie book. Iím thinking very seriously of buying a smaller pie maker.  The only thing stopping me is that there will be more pastry in the pies I eat.  Good for the rest of the family but not me.  I know I can easily adjust the recipes.

DD and I had coffee this morning. The shopping Centre was very empty. We didn't see anyone with masks on today.

Not fun for you Denise. First Ciara and now Dennis.

Yesterday turned out to be 41. Not a fun day. Cooler today but very humid.

Chit Chat / What are you cooking today?
« on: February 14, 2020, 02:40:46 am »
My SD made using 80g of ground linseed rose for 2 days. I decided I had better bake it then, it should have been allowed to rise some more. Then it got stuck in the tin and DH 'helped' get it out. All the bits of the bread are very nice, however next time I will simply add ground linseed to a known bread recipe.

I had some cherries, blueberries and strawberries in the fridge so I decided to follow Chookie's White Peach jam recipe and make some jam from them. It is delicious. Even DH, who prefers peanut butter to jam had some last night on bread. My little Italian grocer told me they will be getting some white peaches in soon.

I had a good laugh at that Chookie. DH sometimes irons if he hasn't anything to do and it is cool. We have a large ironing board so I usually take the measurements with me.
