I made a thick Borscht yesterday to have for dinner tonight. We had it with cheese toasties.

That is so cute Chookie. I have to agree about preferring lockdown. The crowds worry me as they come so close.

We went to Busselton today. We have only been allowed to move around the state since last Thursday, so we decided to have a day out. We left about 9 and got home about 4.30.
I made a picnic loaf to take for lunch.

This is the Ludlow Forest near Busselton. They are Tuart Trees.

We had a hot smoked salmon pie tonight with veggies. It is another one from the Pie book. It was very tasty.

Another thought is check the Laucke website for their recipes and maybe also All About Bread.
http://www.allaboutbread.com.au/
They are over the river and quite a fair bit away from me, but I go out their occasionally to buy rye flour as 5kg lasts me a while. I buy Laucke in 10kg, that lasts me round a month.

Judy, I have just made a half mix of this as I need a Cobb loaf. I was a bit unsure if I should use this. I now have it rising in a casserole dish ready to bake later on.
I think you could use your mix in any bread recipe, just being aware that you may need more water. Chookie will be the expert, Iím a recipe follower.
This recipe of Amandaís says to add water to the dough. I didnít measure what I added this morning. It was just enough to make a firm, sticky dough.

Bread / Potato Rolls (with photo)

I made a batch of these today to use up some left over mashed potato. I was really pleased. They have a lovely soft centre and the crust remains crunchy.

I set out to make this a couple of days ago and although I have celery seeds I didnít have nutritional yeast. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Jams and Chutneys / Re: Rhubarb Freezer Jam

This is interesting Marina. Iíve made jams using chia to thicken it but they must be eaten within a week or two. This is certainly a fruit jam. I guess you could use any fruit.
