Chit Chat / What are you cooking today?
« on: Today at 12:09:41 pm »
Thanks Chookie. I know a couple of places that sometimes have them.
I made some rolls for dinner using a Panina Recipe from SBS https://www.sbs.com.au/food/recipes/panini
I made 4 long ones and some smaller ones. They are very soft.

I always love the sound of the dinners being served. Tonight we are having chicken cooked in the AF then shredded and put into rolls with salad.

Thanks for the hint Chookie. I have tried dried blueberries but not dried cherries. They are hard to find here so next time I see some I will buy them and try it.

What a bargain Chookie. I totally agree with the price of bread flour rising. I paid about $5 more for my 10kg bag the other day. I was hoping to be able to get some when I went out to European Foods the other day but I didnít really like the brands they had. Laucke have put me onto another place I may be able to buy some.
I overheard DH telling a car club friend the other day that our bread alone would have more than paid for our thermomixes.

I made a batch of choc chip biscuits today. I used white, milk and dark chocolate and ruby. Also some walnuts. The mob liked them with the mix in last time.

Chookie you and Ral certainly paid/pay taxes as many of us still do. If we can get any help at all we should take it.

A cold start to the day here, then sunny. Spring is definitely getting closer.

I will certainly be heading to Costco when it comes Judy. Iím looking forward to it.

Tonight we are having pizza. I have just rolled out the pizza dough and it is sitting on the trays.  DD will put everything on them and DH will cook them in the pizza maker. A family affair.

Denise the top picture is a buckwheat mouselike cigar, filled with a lovely creamy caramel something or other. The green is a Yuzu sauce. It is served with a salted dulche de Le he ice cream.

The bottom one is a warm sticky date cake, kabocha cream,  edamame granola, sesame seed ice cream, and rum butterscotch sauce. The kabocha has s a Japanese pumpkin and it was so very, very nice. They were both so very decadent but an amazing mix of flavours.

Only dinner here tonight. DD and I went to the Good Food and Wine show today. We bought some lovely cheeses from Tasmania.
We also did a Thermomix class on the TM6.  It was roti, rice and a chicken curry. Grace came and spoke to us quite a lot and DD was very wicked- she kept getting Teninaís recipes up on her phone and suggesting we make them.  Grace never said a word about it.
The 6 was nothing special. The speed dial starts at the top (12 oíclock), not like the 5.
I was pleased we did it as I am now quite certain that I donít want a 6 until my 31 goes to heaven.

Good news about Ralís platelets. I hope you donít have to pay the $150/day.  Iím sure you would pay it willingly but I hope you donít have to.

We had 27mm of rain yesterday and last night. It has fined up now but is going to be West Australian cold. 3 degrees. 😀
