News about Thermomix / Thermomix in West Australian Paper
« on: July 09, 2009, 05:25:24 am »
There is an article in todays issue of "The West Australian" about the Thermomix. It is with Tupperware and Bessemar ware. It speaks of the old and the new. It's quite a good write up. It lists all the things a TMX can do and says it has a 'black box' that tells how many hours its been used. Lovely to see all the information coming out about TMX. I have rung a couple of friends to tell them to read it as they haven't seen mine yet but are very interested.
 ;D ;D

Thank you Judy and Thermomixer. Singapore was wonderful, we spent lots of time shopping and eating. We got back home about 3 am Monday morning. DD and I had a awesome time. I didn't spot any Thermomixers over there though. Perhaps they had them hidden out the back.

Glad you enjoyed them Wombleydoo. We're having them again tonight with golden syrup this time. It's cool and rainy here so just the weather for steamed puddings.

There is no hope for me then Thermomixer.  I love spending on food, drive a Nissan 4 wheel drive often towing a 18 foot caravan.  But then I won't need anymore kitchen gadgets for many years to come. A....N......D   DH now has 2 Model A cars and is looking at a 3rd.
My opinion is you only get 1 go at life, enjoy it.  I'm off to Singapore with DD on Monday to sample some more of their food. Bye bye waistline (if I ever had one).

Thanks fellow thermomixers.  That's what I usually do but I thought someone  may have had a new super idea.

You poor thing MrSpock. Does he like icecreams and sorbets, cool juices that you could make for him? Perhaps steam his vegies (and yours) in the Varoma.

Marmee, I know just how you feel. I counted down the days for mine to arrive too. In fact I even posted on this site as you have done. May you have lots of wonderful fun creating and making. The only down side I can think of for the TMX is that it is not good for the waistline. We now have sauces, custards and all sorts of things that I couldn't be bothered making before. We have soup every night as I simply throw things into the TMX and create a soup. Actually had Borscht the other night.

Sorry for the delay Thermomixer, I'm having trouble finding the time to get on the computer.  Need to improve my time management skills.
I was going to cover the puddings, as that's what you do in a saucepan.  But then I remembered the Varoma bread didn't go soggy so I didn't cover them and they were fine.

There's one here (Perth) very soon, but unfortunately I'll be away. I was wondering if it was good. If they have another I'll definitely go. Thanks

We're going to Singapore for a week. I'll be able to thaw out. Judy, I'm only getting to the computer in very short bursts. I haven't forgotten your other recipes, will email them asap. (hopefully before we go away)

Chit Chat / Re: Front loader vs top loader
« on: June 24, 2009, 06:59:10 am »
Karen, it was interesting reading that you had an LG front loader and got rid of it. We did too and just before the 2 year warranty ran out it needed repairs. The next time it broke down we replaced it with a Bosch. That is really good.
DH managed to fix the LG himself for about $2, so now DD is having it when she moves out.
