The chocolate brownies were ever so delicious.  Very rich, but still nice.  They had the usual brownie type top, (hard to cut without cracking it into lots of pieces), but the centre is so smooth and rich.  Would make a lovely sweet as well, with cream or icecream, or even both.

CHRISTMAS / Re: Iced Christmas Pudding

I think I will have to make this-especially if it has a soft texture as I love soft icecream. It looks nice and easy too. Thanks for another recipe to try.

I've just made the Chocolate Brownies from the Gluten free book.  The raw mixture was oh so nice. Hopefully the baked version will be just as good.
I've also used the thermomix to speed up the making of some mini plum puddings.  It made the job so much quicker. Usually the crumbling of the cake and melting chocolate is time consuming.  Not this year, I was really speedy.  Might even do another batch to take out tonight-everyone will think I've spent ages making them! ;)

Welcome / Re: Karen's Poll - where are you from???

I think that was a wise thing to do Amanda.  We did a similar thing 10 years ago for our daughter, though it wasn't Europe. Saves everyone a lot of worry and daughters being put into situations that they may or may not be ready to handle.

Drinks / Re: Hot Chocolate

Sure do Karen.  My brother arrives from Canberra  on Saturday.  He thought he would come home for a week to see if he can get some hot weather. He lives at Bungendore and works in the tax office over there.  We spent some time in your lovely capital a couple of months ago.
So let's see who gets to drink hot chocolate at Christmas.(Personally I think I prefer a cold wine-help to cope with batty ma in law).

A thought:  I'll give her some very sweet hot chocolate-might improve her outlook on life!

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Re: What should I make

My first attempt was making the vegetable stock.  I now will not use any other type of stock, I really love it and vegetarian friends are happy to eat my cooking.
Let us know what you make.  That is if you have time when the Thermomix arrives, I'm sure you'll be very busy.
Happy Thermomixing!

Drinks / Re: Hot Chocolate

Thanks for that Dean.  I appreciate the way you have listed the ingredients per person. For drinks it makes it so much easier. Maybe we'll have a cold Christmas and we can sit around drinking hot chocolate.  I could even put some of my vanilla vodka/essence in it.  Probably by then it will be straight vodka; blow the vanilla bit. :o

Karen, your lemon curd looks lovely. My next batch will be the UK recipe.  Which of the two recipes do you prefer?  Great photo too.

Karen, I have vanilla vodka/essence brewing in my pantry too. I can't wait to use it.  I've seen some photos of it on other forums and theirs looks lovely, so I hope mine turns out as well.

Today's cooking so far has been Garlic and Herb pull apart from the Christmas book and Luigis 40 second biscuits. The biscuits are very tasty-I find it amazing how you can put whole almonds into the machine, zap it and you have almond meal.

Hi Lien
There seems to be something about the Thermomix that husbands like.  It was my DH that said 'we should get one of those'.
I didn't complain at all.
Welcome and I hope you receive your Thermomix before Christmas.
