If you use fresh horseradish be careful,it's powerful stuff and can burn your nose if you inhale the fumes. It's very easy to grow here in the UK,once it's established it's hard to eradicate,a useless bit of information for those who live in Oz

Main Dishes / Re: Honey Mustard Chicken« on: August 10, 2011, 10:42:45 am »
Made this for supper last night.Used Chelsea's idea of adding the chicken in the last 7 minutes, doubled the mustard as Zan suggested and added half Greek yoghurt half cream seeing Katya had success with Greek yoghurt. I thought DH would be able to taste the yoghurt but I got away with it! Infact he said it was delicious. Thanks for the tweaks girls

Chit Chat / Re: Hi everyone. I am in ....................« on: August 09, 2011, 11:40:47 am »Denise, it's hard to conceive of just how large Australia is until you travel here. Going over 'The Nullarbor', which is the ONLY southern route from west to east, the places marked on the road maps are simply petrol stations, not towns or villages (or they were when we last crossed approx. 20 years ago, it may have changed now). That is indicative of just how remote these places are. I should clarify, when I say petrol stations, they are called Road Houses here and you can load up on food and often they have some fairly basic accommodation units as well.I love looking on Google Earth to see where you all live in Oz It is difficult for me to understand how big your country is and the length of time some road trips take but I love looking at it all. 15898

Yes, I'm not popular atm, I know what they are thinking (mum's just going a bit psycho, she'll come around...) just in case DD1 doesn't want to work out whats for tea, AND THEN go shop for the ingredients...I bought a loaf of bread and some baked beans (for them to make when they feel like it of course)Great backup plan CP 15900
Desserts / Re: SALTED CARAMEL MAPLE ICE CREAM« on: August 08, 2011, 01:58:11 pm »Having printed out this recipe 2.5 years ago, I cannot believe I have finally made it. Thanks for all those who have bumped it to keep in in my mind - today it finally got to me, just as I was going around to the shop so a couple of items went onto the list and the first stage has been done. Licking the bowl tasted pretty darn good so can't wait until tomorrow to try the finished ice-cream (without the chocolate for my first effort).I would have love to see you licking that bowl Judy, enjoy your breakfast tomorrow |
