Don't let our friends know how long we spend on here.  Mine is 19 days, 11 hours and 37 minutes.  Wait until you see Thermomixers, Brazens and a few others ??? ???

Good to see you really getting into the cooking Meagan - you are doing well.

I'd made my DD a batch of the dry mixture for pancakes a couple of weeks ago so whilst down at her place today GD and I have made a batch of pancakes.  I let miss 4.5 measure and hand whisk as she does a wonderful job with a whisk but drew the line at her cooking them. She has come to expect a cooking session every time we get together so I got off lightly today when I remembered the mixture was already here in the pantry.

ILB - your blog looks great.  These things all take time but you are off to a great start with a couple of your own recipe conversions.  Now you have the site up and running, it will be the incentive to do a lot more conversions. Well done. Hope DD gets better soon.

;D ;D He still has 2 sleeps a day Thermomixer and also sleeps right through at night (for his Mum anyway) so hopefully DH and I will survive the week.  It is just something Mums do for their daughters - give them a break when they need it.  You never know, one day Mrs T may do the same with her grand-child - ha ha ha

Hi Kristie, welcome to the world of the Thermomix owners.  Hope you are getting a delivery demo to help you on your way but being so isolated, maybe it's coming in the post.  In which case you will need to do a lot of reading and you have found the right place here for lots of hints and lovely recipes.  Hope you've already earmarked those you would like to try and we all look forward to hearing how you get on with your machine.  My DD loves it for cooking food for the little ones.  Visited Broome on the Sun Princess early last year for the first time, lovely place but oh, so hot.

Hi Di, welcome to the forum. No wasting time with you - straight into something special for your first breakfast. I think I just stood and looked at mine for a few days before I did anything then I realised it wasn't going to cook anything if I didn't make a move.

I know the books you mean ILB - they have them for sale at the hairdressing salon I go to. I always used to buy them but have the willpower now, to not even look at them.  I just check out the children's books instead.  Be strong ILB - you can do it.  You need to ;) ;)

I have stopped buying cookbooks now that I have the TMX - have plenty on hand to convert recipes if I want to and have this wonderful forum for other recipes.  Gave away 40 books a couple of years ago for Mum's fete and reckon I could let another 40 go as I rarely look at them these days.  I liked Thermomixer's idea (that he didn't stick to for long) of taking one recipe from a different book each week to convert for the TMX.  When I have time, I still love to browse through old books though.

Same here Sundari - they are nice and thick and you can get rather large ones too.

Yes, I agree, get a skip in and get rid of everything family members don't want.  Even charities are fussy these days but you could try them with some of the better stuff..  If you take it home, it will clutter your sheds and then you leave your DD in the same position you have been put in now.  You cannot afford to be sentimental when clearing out parents' houses Cookie1.

Yes, it keeps the forum rolling along nicely - things to read with your morning cuppa before us Aussies start our postings.

Another slack day today. We had a Model A rally. So it's another pasta dish tonight as I'm tired and even a bit sunburned.
Don't tell me it has finally stopped raining in WA Cookie1 ??? ???
