Tonightís meal was a Celery Smoothie https://saltandbaker.com/celery-smoothie/
I made it before going down to the kidsí place for the day, it tasted better when I returned home than when freshly made.  Silly me, I used all frozen ingredients so should have only added water instead of ice-cubes to blend it so as a consequence the smoothie didnít blend well and I ended up adding 2.5 more cups of almond milk with the sustagen to come up to a good texture. Iíll be having this one for breakfast tomorrow and my evening meal as well, Iím learning a lot as I go on this journey but so far have not had to throw any out.

Chookie Iíve only made 4 so far over a 6 night period as some are large enough for 2 meals.

https://thenutritionadventure.com/chocolate-strawberry-power-smoothie/ This was really nice but I replaced the cocoa powder with 3 scoops chocolate sustagen and used prunes in lieu of dates as I didnít have any dates at that time. 6 oz of milk is 178 ml.

This Broccoli smoothie was nice too https://www.google.com/gasearch?q=saltand%20baker.com%20broccoli%20smoothie&source=sh/x/gs/m2/5. I froze 3 bags of this one then just added the pineapple juice and water once it was in the TM jug plus my usual addition of the Sustagen powder. How this changes the taste of the smoothie I donít know but this Berry Cabbage one was not nice until I added it https://iliveforgreens.com/green-cabbage-smoothie/

Some recipes have added protein powder in them so this is virtually what Iím adding when using the Sustagen.  I donít expect to like them all but Iíd like to try them all and end up with a good selection of enjoyable smoothies as a replacement meal.

Great baking cookie, that twist looks amazing.

I made some savoury muffins to take down to DDís for the grand final, unfortunately I picked the wrong tub of flour and made them with plain flour. I wondered why they were strange but soon realised when I put the container back into the pantry. In the bin they went.  As I want to take something  down there I went shopping and bought the ingredients for these sausage rolls from Taste https://www.taste.com.au/recipes/mini-caramelised-onion-sausage-rolls/8rijn4qk
They arenít as dark as they look so will reheat OK.

The smoothies are worth a try Chookie.  I imagine youíll be doing a lot of cooking for GDís 21st, that will be right up your alley.

Think we need photos Judy , you might inspire all of us .

As you can see K Atie, there is nothing pretty about fruit & veg smoothies if you add spinach, itís all about the taste. This is the one I had last night and having the rest of it tonight.

Thanks K Atie, Iíll check out her website but I have written out over 100 recipes for this project of mine. Yes Marina, it was a huge and expensive task but with all the hard work done all I have to do now is choose one at the end of the day. Tonight I had one of the frozen dump bags which consisted of broccoli, banana, mango, strawberries, baby spinach. I just had to add pineapple juice and water with my usual addition of 3 scoops of Sustagen - it made 2 large ones, one for tonight and one for tomorrow night - it was delicious. My DD was impressed and took GD to the freezer to show her what Iíd done. She thought the dump bags would be especially good for her to put together for her quick smoothie fix.

For the past week Iíve been looking up recipes for fruit & veg smoothies and writing them in a note book. I ended up with 38 pages then I set to buying some ingredients and packaging them up for the freezer. I made 3 Ďdump bagsí with what I had on hand but now all the fruit and veg are packed into little bags separately. I spent hours yesterday doing the fruit bags but have left the bulk bags from Costco of strawberries, blueberries and mangoes as they are as they pour freely as is. I now also have pineapple, apples, mandies, grapes, medjool dates packed away and will add the pears as soon as they ripen.  Today was vegetable day after a trip to Farmer Joís for spinach, asparagus, carrots, kale, zucchini, beetroot - I only cooked the asparagus and beetroot. I already had 10 bags of freshly cooked chickpeas in the freezer after coming across the bag whilst cleaning out the pantry. Iíve got individual packs of orange and pineapple juice in the pantry and today have frozen 8 bags of Greek yoghurt.  Iíve bought almond and coconut milk but will make my own oat milk.

My reasoning for this change of tack for my evening meal is that I believe we will be having a very hot summer and we all lose our appetite when this happens. Iíve been eating very little in the evening so by changing to a fruit & veg smoothie with added seeds and sustagen I will expect to be eating, or drinking really, quite healthy meals. So far Iíve had a chocolate, strawberry chickpea smoothie and a Berry Cabbage one - both were enjoyable, the cabbage one more so once I added the sustagen.  I donít enjoy food these days so Iím going to do something about it.

Itís disappointing when that happens Margaret.

Today I came across an old recipe of mine and only made it because I had all the ingredients on hand. It may go home with my DD when her and the kids come to visit tomorrow. https://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=13503.0

That was a very enjoyable morning with family Chookie, surprised you havenít been there before this. Thank goodness for good neighbours like you, living alone we need people to keep an eye out for us and pick up on warning signs. Wishing your neighbour well in her recovery.

Cookie, canít wait to read of your decision, will you or wonít you I wonder. It may lead to bigger and better things if you are willing to go down that path.

K Atie, good on you for educating DS in life after living with parents. A man who can look after himself is always appreciated by a future wife, one who has been spoilt rotten by his Mum usually expects to be treated the same by his wife.

It sounds delicious cookie and I can imagine the excitement that day in Bundaberg when he returned. We visited Hinkler House when we went on our 5 month campervan  trip back in 1991.

Enjoy the movie Chookie, I hope itís not The Strays!  A friend invited me to join her to see a Ďlovely doggie movieí, we had no idea it was M rated. Only 10 people in the theatre including 2 young couples which I thought was odd when we walked in. However it soon became clear what we were in for and my poor friend couldnít believe her ears and eyes. We had many laughs though and were soon not shocked at anything we saw. It brings a smile to my face whenever I think of that experience.
