For that very reason I’ve delayed having mine cut Marina. My hairdresser will certainly have something to say to me when I do make an appointment as it’s been 14 weeks since I had mine cut very short. It’s still manageable so I’ll keep it this length until it won’t do what I want. I’m really feeling the cold these days and I’m not keen to go down the short cut just yet.

A big pot of pea and ham soup then I shredded the smoked hock to freeze for DD to do something with. I sent her a link to a collection of recipes using this type of meat when asking her if she wanted it. It was a yes please from her.

Not a bad thing to have to do cookie, there’s always so much to see there and a leisurely stroll around the store is something I love to do which is why I Iike to go alone.

My pleasure Chookie, the Forumfesters are a special group of ladies we were lucky enough to holiday with several times and they care deeply about the well-being of their group.

The house must be just what you want Chookie, it has to be special if you’ve put an offer in at this stage. Wishing you good luck with your offer.

What a fun thing to do Chookie, perhaps you could not eat the crusts of some of the pies (best part).

I hope the house sells soon so that you can make an offer on its replacement. Well done to your chooks, obviously they don’t find it too cold to keep laying. Will you be taking them with you eventually?  Lucky people who are receiving the eggs, there’s nothing like fresh eggs.

No I can’t eat chicken Chookie. Veggie version will do me fine though.

I’m sure she appreciates it K Atie, I know my Mum did. When you live on your own you lose interest in cooking and the older we get the less interested we can become.

That was the only way I ever cooked forequarter chops K Atie, it was economical and so tasty. I’d always spend the time to de-fat them before cooking, was very fussy about too much fat on my meat and that was a bit time consuming.

They do come up beautifully Margaret.
I haven't done much today but my new handyman and his offsider tackled my very long list of various sized jobs for 3 hours, so pleased with their work. Couple of garden jobs left for them to tackle next week.

Your rough weather has come over here cookie, not too bad yet where I live.
Today I took a friend to see a doco/movie The Boy from the Bush (Lee Kernaghan), we’re both country music lovers and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It made me want to move to the country!

Great idea Marina. Using the bag is a much better idea than the bath, it would need much less water to cover the racks.

K Atie these days wth the price of petrol we tend to go straight home not via anything so I’m sure you enjoyed the little trip today to check out the countryside.

Thanks K Atie & Margaret.

Margaret my scales are not accurate so I’ve weighed both the old clear MC (30g) and the new Grey/black one (28g) on my digital scales for you. I wonder if this will help you with your baking hit and miss efforts lately.

TERIYAKI SALMON NOODES FOR 2  - https://www.recipetineats.com/teriyaki-salmon-noodles/

I’ve had this on my to do list for ages and today I made it for lunch. It was delicious and for me it made 4 serves but I only used 1 piece of salmon. I also added carrots and some broccoli stalks which I softened in the microwave first. My colour isn’t as rich as Nagi’s as she obviously used dark soy and I used the light option.  From this recipe I will be able to make a quicker version minus the salmon but with a variety of par-cooked veggies and caramelised onion instead. Salmon does nothing for me unfortunately but I wanted to give it a go.
