Amy - the new puppy was just meant to be!
May I suggest you read my tips below...

Puppy training Rule #1 - put all your shoes away. (and visitors shoes too - it gets expensive replacing them!  :o )
Puppy training Rule # 2 - put all your shoes away. (and visitors shoes too - it gets expensive replacing them!  :o )
Puppy training Rule #3 - put all your shoes away. (and visitors shoes too - it gets expensive replacing them!  :o )
Puppy training Rule #4 - put all your shoes away. (and visitors shoes too - it gets expensive replacing them!  :o )
Puppy training Rule #5 - put all your shoes away. (and visitors shoes too - it gets expensive replacing them!  :o )

Do you see a trend here? There are other rules - but that is the one that I wish I had taken a whole lot more notice of!
And yes - we had to replace a lot of shoes and visitors shoes too when we got a new puppy!
And I'd love another one. (but will put all shoes out of reach!)

Ha ha Kimmyh  ;D ;D Just read 'em again!

I shake my head every time I think of what that darned pup cost us in shoes! The kids were slow learners and I got sick to death of buying new shoes every week, so they went without - or wore chewed shoes until they learnt that "up and out of the way " was better than "down and looking like an idiot at school with munted shoes"!

The offending pup is a staffy and now 6 and still costs us huge $$$ but not in shoes. He's eaten rat bait (luckily we saw him do it and got him to the vet quick) he's spent 3 nights in hospital constipated ( - that was messy  :o ), plus other mis adventures that have cost us, and now he has arthritis, so no doubt going to cost us more. But we love the little tank to death!

Nikki, I'm afraid those rules don't work because Paddy only wants a shoe if your foot happens to be in it ;D He is also quite fond of mum's pot plants and the frayed bit of carpet in the lounge room :-))
And he hasn't learned what "no" means yet! ;D

Ha ha Amy that's like my dogs they only like shoes when they are attached to feet as well ;)
Paddy will soon learn what no means but it may take a couple of weeks
I love, love, love Dogs  :D :D :D

I know you do MF :D :D :D
I must admit its not a nice feeling when you're just wearing sandals and you have a puppy try to grab hold of them... I have a large graze on my foot where his little razor teeth got me. Ouch! :-[ :-))
It will be good when he learns his name too ;)

Happy we got him microchipped this afternoon! :D

I'm very happy about lot's of things this morning  ;D

1. I'm going to a breast care seminar and usually these things are so boring but Hunter Breast Care is an extrememly interesting day with lots of good speakers and they have a wonderful breakfast, lunch and morning tea plus I get 5 Compulsory Professional Development points for nurses regisrtation. :D

2. I feel refreshed after unburdening myself of loads of things I don't use anymore. Thankyou Gert for the inspiration  :-* I think I might have a bit of clutter anxiety.

3. Do any of you remember a post by Jeninwa letting us know we could download free magazines from the library? Well I tried and tried and couldn't figure it out. Just worked out how to do it. Now I can borrow all the latest magazines and don't have to store them in my home  ;D ;D Thankyou Jen  :-*
