The way to go Chookie. I used to love eating my fish and chips wrapped in paper when I was a child. Mum worked in a fish and chip shop near my school (and our home) so I had F & C a few times a week.
I’m continually looking for and trying new recipes, it’s almost a full time job looking after myself LOL. SIL bought some Costco prawns last time they were over, I got to try one to see if it was moist enough (some aren’t) and it was perfect so I had 3 before I was full. I received any invitation to lunch the next day for a prawn cocktail, he had given me and his Mum the leftovers whilst he had a pasty. He was so happy to see me eat something.

Judy, I know what you mean about if the prawns were moist enough. I don’t often buy cooked prawns as they are often too dry. Stale I think. The ones I bought were from Wilson’s and were large and perfect. Also very expensive. However the new shopping me also bought, 1 fig, 2 plums, 4 kiwi fruit, and a Cauli. They also had curried scallop pies, made in Tessie. . I bought one of these for my DD.
KAtie, there is a new Wilson’s shop in Lucas , which is on your side of Ballarat. Not as well stocked as the original shop, but pretty good.

Chookie I love Wilson’s , Lucas only has seafood , DH will always go home that way so if I’m with him have to stop and get some treats . Finding the other Wilson’s has much less now , not sure why . Just think everything is expensive, less is more too.

I made a stew for myself with 2 packs of meaty beef bones today ($1.74), there was enough meat on them for 1 serve to freeze for SIL as I only wanted the veggies. Surprisingly I enjoyed it, last time I made a stew (probably last winter) I didn’t.

Judy it’s good that you have found something else you can eat. Chookie your prawns sound delicious. I rarely buy them.
We had chicken schnitzel, chips and stir fried veggies. DH cooked it.

KAtie, Wilson’s at Lucas has steak and lamb as well as the fish. Agree their other shop has less variety than before.
Probably soup again tonight as we will have lunch out.

We had baked apricot chicken legs with risotto rice on the bottom. I made up a combination of lots of recipes. Zapped fresh ginger garlic parsley coriander and onion added oil cooked 1 min 100% speed 1 ,added stock paste 1/2 can of apricot nectar dyon mustard mango chutney and blitzed. Tray baked - rice on bottom added chopped celery and carrot then chicken legs poured sauce over top added rest of apricot nectar. Covered in the oven slow cooked 160 for a few hours , removed lid at end to reduce and crisp up top . Very tasty.

I made a good old fashioned beef stew with dumplings on. Easy to do and delicious and warming.
