What were you doing up at that hour Judy?

I had a strange night cookie and subconsciously I think I was worried that I'd decided to leave it out on the bench overnight instead of in the fridge.  I woke at 4.30 and by 5.30 decided I might as well cook it and have breakfast.  At 7.30 I had another coffee and a slice of focaccia so 2 breakfasts for me this morning.

I made Cathy79's Banana and blueberry muffins and Skinnymixers Macaroni and Cheese with a twist for a work colleague that was in a car accident a few weeks ago. She cares for her grandchildren and they were all in the car with her.  She just got back to town over the weekend and two of the kids are still in wheelchairs and need regular trips to he hospital.

What a lovely idea DD.
Silly me decided to have a birthday party for DD this weekend...and even sillier me invited 25 kiddies. So needless to say I've been cooking...
Today was cheese & vegemite pinwheels as well as mini ham and pineapple pizzas for the freezer.
Thank goodness for the TM the food bill for this party (not including the cake) was well under $100 for approximately 50+ people :)

That's every Grandparents' nightmare Den, how very thoughtful of you to help out with food.

A good start to the party Jamberie, that's a lot of kiddies, a lot of noise and I'm sure there will be lots of lovely food as well.

Monday was my big cook up. Tenina's strawberry jam, meat loaf, baked beans, scones, coconut loaf and chocolate slice. That should do us for a couple of days lol

Yes, a lot of kiddies Judy! It will be like I'm back in the classroom :) I've hired a big jumping castle so at least the kids should be entertained :)

I just hope I will have enough food. I never know how much to make for these things.

My DD had a jumpy castle at one of GD's early birthdays Jamberie and we had to drag the kids out of it to eat LOL.

Great cooking INAID.

That's great! I'm trying to make a lot of things that freeze well so we can just pop things in the airfryer on an as needs basis...I also don't want to provide too nuch food- lots of food + lots of bouncing = sick children!
I haven't been to a party with a jumping castle before,  hopefully these kiddies will like it as much as your GD :)

We always tend to over cater, especially kids parties, if adults are invited also Jamberie, they will polish off the food.
Sorry to hear about your friend and her GK's DD. what a dreadful thing to happen. Cooked food will be gratefully accepted I'm sure!

Jamberie I'm sure it will go well. If needed just put on your 'teacher voice ' and sort them out. The children will either eat lots or nothing!  The trouble is you never know which to go for. I imagine the bouncy castle will be fun.

INAID I hope that lot does last for a few days. But then growing children need lots of yummy food.

Jam, sounds like the makings of a good party.
DD, that is very kind of you.  Poor granny.
Judy, you need 2 breakfasts getting up at that time.
Today, between cleaning out cupboards and packing stuff away, I made 2 dishes from David Herbertsnewbook, Best Home Cooking.
Frying pan lemon tart and crumbed baked chicken.
The lemon tart fell to bits asi should havecookedit in a non stick pan.  Will make again as it tastes delicious.
Used very large chicken drumsticks and need baking for longer.  Very nice so will post both recipes.
