Monkey Mia is such a beautiful place; I hope it has stayed as it was years ago and not got too big. Its been a while.

Still extremely small troupie. A caravan park, a heap,of motel style units, a backpackers area, a shop, and a restaurant. That is all there is here. It's classed as a resort, but a lot of it is getting very old and dilapidated. It has been bought by the RAC (NRMA) and they take over in July. It is very expensive by WA standards. Most people in the caravan park park upward of $52/ night. As 'Oldies' we pay quite a lot less.
It is a beautiful place.

Jean, some friends of mine are up there now too. They have been posting heaps of video of the dolphins on the edge of the water on my Facebook account. It looks fabulous.

Thanks Bedlam. I will go and have a look. I'm afraid we don't really go down to see the dolphins any more. We tend to see heaps of them out in the bay. I did wander down after the dolphin feeding this morning and took this photo of the other boat that takes people out.

I hope the RAC don't change it too much and make it so expensive for families. The first time I went to Kalbarri it was a quiet little town with a few caravan parks and now it has changed so much.

I know what you mean troupie. My first visit to Kalbarri was in 1972 and there was very little there.
Late yesterday DH and I went crabbing. We caught 26 in two runs along the nets. An excellent catch. We have crabs for lunch for a few days and some to go in the freezer.

Nothing quite like fresh cooked crab, warm with lots of black pepper and a little salt.
Well done on the crabbing Jean.

When we lived in Sydney we had a very old ( 50 +) wooden boat moored in Pittwater. We had many good times on this boat over the years. We used to catch a lot of blue swimmers , leather jackets and bream. Nothing like fresh caught and cooked on board. The boat now resides in the Gippsland Lakes
