What have you been doing today?

I spent most of the day rearranging and cleaning out storage shelves. Very good feeling.
I’ve got a small machine that makes ice blocks. Very handy in this hot weather.
Book club today.
Very very hot.

It was 23° here today. Beautiful. I feel for those of you that are getting our heat.

Don’t feel bad cookie, you’ve had these temperatures for years and although we used to follow you 3 days later it all of a sudden changed a few years back and somehow they missed us. High temps for extended periods had to happen sooner or later and I’ve been pleased for you that you’re cooler than us for a change.

Today has been epically hot 47 . 45-46 all arvo . DH spent morning preparing for possible fires and putting gear away . I moved sprinklers all day . DH was overheated ! Beetroot red - so quick cold wet facewasher and a shower . Watched the Tennis . Sadly my one and only chook did not survive the day .. I was sad . Cool change but still very warm and air conditioner battling . Awaiting the dry lightning, oh I hope not . Hope everyone is ok .

I caught up on some housework that has been neglected.

Katie, that’s very hot. Poor Chook. I read somewhere that people were bringing their pet chooks inside during this heat wave.
The heat seemed to continue well into the night, even though there was a change.
I didn’t go to book club it was just too hot to go out.
My pinched nerve is finally recovering. It is a month since it started. I’m able to reduce the pain killer.
Today, clean out veggie draw in fridge.

Chookie DH said the same thing afterwards . I made DS check on our cats and work dog . DH Checked the livestock . The cool change helped , but I’m sure the heat got to me , as I felt unwell all night . All good today . Thank goodness no dry lightening. Did a quick clean out of the kitchen food . House is hot , cooled down a little this morning .

We had the tree people in today to trim the hedge along our back fence.  The hedge was about 6 mts tall and they have reduced it by about a third.

Afternoon Tea with Probus.
Most unusual thing happened yesterday. The Pharmacy where I get my medicines said they couldn’t provide one of my medications. Also none in warehouse. Suggested I shop around.
Still quite warm. 30 today.
Has everyone noticed all the posts everywhere about the TMX 7?  Feels like going back to 2009 when I got my first TMX.

Yes my feed is inundated with TM7 posts and stories Chookie. Not enjoying the complaints by many though although I am interested in reading stories of when users do things which puts their machine out of action for a while. Either by themselves, hubby or kids. Things like putting the bowl on a stove element which hasn’t cooled down, hubby or kids doing the washing up and not locking the blade in. Mum comes along and pours liquid in and you know how that one goes.

Judy I firmly believe that people buy a thermomix and think they will be brilliant cooks. They do silly things and then wonder why it happened. There are a lot of Cookidoo recipes that have flopped for me, but I’m usually able to resurrect them.

Chookie I’m glad things are improving with you pinched nerve.

We got a new modem today !! Now my TM5 will not connect to internet ! Not sure what to do , DS was putting in the new modem tried to connect it . TM6 works fine . I know not to do a factory reset that never works with all that over the years I’ve read - well I don’t think that has anything to do with it , I could be wrong.

Katie, how confusing. I’m over all this technology. DS, who is a computer wiz, ( although not with Apple), tried to sort out why I couldn’t send messages. He consulted an Apple specialist. He rang me with the solution. It took a 2 hour phone conversation to fix the problem. I can really muck things up when I don’t even try.
Only 31 today. Clean out study day.

Totally agree with you Chookie . DS was here and thought he might have been able to help . Unfortunately if it’s the new modem not compatible, no way is DH spending another hour and a half on the phone to Telstra . I thought it was a bonus to get it , DS said we could have the two going but I’m sure that will interfere with all devices. I took the TM5 up next to modem and it still didn’t connect.
