I finished the last of a couple of home made Christmas cards.  Everything is ready for the post now.

You are industrious Mab.
KAtie it’s a busy time. Dad always said harvest meant money would be coming in.

We came home today. Lovely air con in the house. Now to think about Christmas.

Warm here yesterday and today. Nice for a change. Spent time on the phone yesterday with new energy provider. With the solar and battery I needed to change. I tried to fill in the info on line but made a mess so rang and they did it for me.
Today I’m going to the opening of an art exhibition.

Afternoon tea with neighbors. I usually take Portuguese Custard Tarts, but today I might make some chocolate and Hazelnut tarts as well. Recipe for the filling in the Guardian. I’m not very good at making the pastry cases so bought cases.
The Art exhibition was interesting but the nibbles were awful.

The weather fined up and boys harvesting till midnight. I did more washing. Strange clouds today looks like storms but they keep away from us . Done nothing much for Christmas and beginning to realise it’s coming very quickly!

Chookie, is that GD the bagpiper graduating?  Botany would be a great degree.

Dentist this morning - hygienist - lots of new toys in her room to play with!

Marina, yes Jilly is the Bagpiper.
DD booked us into a Motel in Melbourne near the Uni where GD is graduating . We arrived late after Dinner. It was the awful. Broken furniture in the parking area. No one on duty and the rooms are hard to describe. We couldn’t stay as it didn’t feel safe as well as dirty.
We finally found a Novotel nearby. Completely different. Even though that first hotel was in such a state, it was well booked as the car park was full. We think they were tradies working on the Tunnel nearby. This was certainly a first for me.

That would be awful Chookie. Congratulations to your GD.
I had an early morning phone call today. My SIL was taken to hospital by ambulance last night. She has Parkinson’s but we don’t know if this is associated with it. Awful timing as my brother has just started radiation therapy for a skin cancer on his ear that they couldn’t cut all of it out.
Not the best way to start the day.

What a nightmare, Chookie.  Glad you got accommodation elsewhere.  Was your GD's graduation at the Royal Exhibition Building?

Terrible news on your SIL Cookie.  Hope she is OK and that the treatment on your brother's ear is successful.

Marina, the graduation was at La Trobe. Very well managed. Very impressed by the degrees that these young people are doing. Lots of research . GD ‘s boy friends is doing a PHD in reclaiming water. He showed us around the laboratories. The gardens around the buildings are all native plants.
Cookie, that is hard to cope with . As we get older these things seem to happen at the same time.

That room would have been a shock to you Chookie, great that you were able to find a much better one. Congratulations to Jilly.
Cookie life becomes so hard as we age and have health problems, wishing your DB & SIL all the best. Hopefully they have children who can help when needed.
A stinker here today in Adelaide so all jobs done early and I’m going to spend the rest of the day watching the cricket.

I've taken advantage of the hot weather and completely stripped two beds and washed all the linen including the mattress covers and one doona.
