I came home on Saturday afternoon after another 10 days in hospital. I had a gastroscopy and a few days later I had a dilation of my oesophagas. I now have a gastric nasal tube for my Ensure. I am allowed to have soup, yogurt and custards but I would love a good meal of meat and veggies.

Great to see that you are back home, Mab. I hope you are able to gradually return to a more varied diet soon.

Hi Mab, feel for you. Can you make soup to taste like meat and veg ?
Phone call with Dietitian to set goals for next 12 months. ( wish I could stick to them! )
Freezing again. Feels like -5 .

Mab that’s hard but think of your thermomix as your savour , try the puréed baby food meals ( you can gourmet them up ) that are full of protein and veg . Also stewed apple is a nice treat .
Yoga this morning, was a great class felt so much better after . Food Shopping! A few clothes shopping pants , shirt and a jumper .
Some days like today it’s so nice the sun shining and all I would like to do is ring MDM and talk , how can this never leave you , years later it’s still a hankering deep inside.

Margaret you poor girl. Hopefully that perfect meal won’t be too far away.
Katie a wise friend once told me that the pain never goes away, you learn to live with it.
I saw my GP for my results this morning. Pretty well everything is ok with only age related changes. However the scan shows that my sinuses are completely opaque. He has put me on massive antibiotics to see if they help. If necessary he will order a scan of my sinuses and refer me.

Might have over exerted myself at Yoga. As now I’ve had a headache all day and feel very tired. Or maybe lifting wheelbarrows of wood !

Another wet day here. Not a lot happening. We needed a few groceries so DH kindly popped down to get them.

Hi everyone, back last night after being away for nearly 3 weeks. Have read all your posts, some interesting reading there. Not only are we a cooking group, we’re of the age that we can also share our health problems. I’ve been in that group for quite a while and although our holiday was problem free I had to see a doctor this morning with what they think is a UTI which came on during the night. So glad it waited until I got home. Best wishes to those who have been or are currently having problems.

What a bugger Judy. A friend lost a kidney through an untreated UTI. Another dear friend never had any symptoms until she fell and couldn’t get up. A friend’s Mum used to go a little crazy when she had one. These lovely ladies were close to 90. Wise to get it treated early Judy.
I’m hoping to be able to take myself up to the local Westfield this morning. DH has been driving me round, and I hate to impose.

Thanks ladies. I can add that in the nursing home if anyone was acting in an unusual way the first thing staff did was test them for a UTI. This is the first one I’ve had since the early 80’s and the tablets are certainly working.

I’ve weeded the whole back yard, weedless when I left but I filled 3/4 of the bin. A good job out of the way.

Wasted the day lurking around home, twiddling my thumbs waiting for the garage to ring to say our car was ready to be picked up ... but they didn't ring!! Very annoying as it means I cannot get up to Guildford this weekend. I am now thinking I might just hop on a random tram or train today and see where I end up - that is something I have been promising myself to do for years.
