DD and I went to a shopping centre a few kms away that has a Black Pepper outlet. I was adamant that I wouldn't buy anything. I ended up buying a nice black and white striped T shirt/blouse. DD bought a winter dressing gown. She said oldies dressing gowns are always warm and cosy.

I’ve just read a post by Nagi , RTE. She has had some of her recipes stolen and published by another cook. I feel for her as I had some of my recipes plagiarised when TMX books were just beginning to hit the market. I was sharing my recipes on the Forum and on my Blog. Although she has shown a comparison of both recipes, there is actually more to it than that. You know when you develop a recipe as each individual writes in a slightly different way. You might call this style, even within the required format of a recipe.
Nagi is going to fight this plagiarism. I felt so disappointed, when this happened to me that I considered not sharing any more of my recipes. However RAL pointed out that it is a compliment to have someone copy , even for monetary gain.
I say go for it Nagi, this person is despicable.

I got that post as well, Cookie and was disgusted at the "influencer" involved.  I had never heard of her and will certainly never, ever purchase any of her books on principle alone - even if she was the best in the world (which she may not be if she publishes other people's recipes under her own name).  People that do that do not deserve support.

To date, it looks like Nagi has fought a hard battle and I simply cannot imagine her feelings when she discovered what has happened She is absolutely doing the right thing and I hope the outcome is positive, although that will never compensate her for what has happened.  GO NAGI!

In case  you haven't seen the post Cookie and I have referenced, I just saw this article on the internet:

https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/books-magazines/shocking-beloved-australian-chef-nagi-maehashi-accuses-brooki-bakehouse-of-copying-her-recipes-as-social-media-star-denies-claims/news-story/3f99ed94b5f79ccc6b7dd12d2f2bb00e

It was also on the 6.00am ABC news this morning

I’ve been reading further comments on plagiarism. In Australia, you may take someone’s recipe and rewrite it using your own words, and it’s not Illegal. However, it seems it is polite to acknowledge the source of the recipe. Some people who have used my recipes have done this.

I too have been reading about Nagi RTE , it’s a sad world we live in sometimes to cpoy somebody’s hard work .
Saw DD and we did a bit of shopping also managed another podiatrist appointment for my on going wart on my heal . Looks like it’s changing, but so pleased to see her as it was hurting to walk . Now I have to keep up the urea moisture cream ( it’s very strong and only use on that area ) and vitamin, added pure zinc last week. So now from no tablets to Vitamin D zinc calcium. . Still think the calcium is not agreeing with me . So cold last night DH light the fire .

I feel for Nagi. I think she is doing the right thing. She said she has nothing to lose.

I did the shopping this morning. We went to Costco yesterday and I stocked up on things that we used.

Nagi also thinks that Bills Portuguese Custard Tart Recipe has been pinched. I would think that this is easily identified as the manner in which he makes the puff cases is unique. I haven’t seen this method anywhere before.
I make lots of these tart from Bills recipe. When I started making them I checked many other recipes. Mostly to with the eggs. His recipe uses only yolks. Some others use a combination of whole eggs and yolks. I think Brooki has done this also. But please acknowledge where the inspiration comes from.

Super frustrating  day today - we have been out of water since 2.00 am!  I have all the ingredients for my cooking all lined up on the bench, ready to go, just waiting for the water to come back on.

I have been lugging water from our water tanks for the toilets, but as I am back in my moonboot, I can't carry much more than 4 litres at a time!~  I am told we should have water back on by 2.00 pm!  Fingers crossed.

Yesterday I went shopping with DD and then had lunch at an Italian restaurant.  I had a vegetarian risotto and asked for it to be made very moist.  It was lovely and I ate most of it and brought the rest home.

Frustrating for you Marina. You do well to carry 4 litres at a time.

Margaret I’m pleased that you were able to eat the risotto.

I saw Nagi on tv last night asking people not to criticise Brooke ??????  Poor Nagi was almost in tears.

A trip to the $2 shop this morning to buy some glass jars to replace some of the plastic containers in the pantry.

Not a lot done today. I guided DH down to an unknown suburb. He had arranged to pick some things up from  NFG committee member’s widow. I waited in the car. So very sad as her house is rented and the owner’s have asked her to leave. Within their rights of course but hard for her. They had been there 12 years.
