Good news about the Jury Cookie. I got called up last year but pleaded age and RAL. DS was called up a couple of years ago.  They got locked up in a Private Hotel , over night for a couple of days.
Busy today, made Strawberry Conserve from my blog.  Visit to Dr for new scrips. Making large loaf of bread. Lovely warm weather so sandwiches for lunch.
Next door neighbour gave us a pile of lettuce.  Making salad.

Supermarket shopping this morning, we went early to avoid the crowd but everyone else seemed to have the same idea.

I spent 15 mins standing in a queue at the bank today, there was only one teller working and about 12 people in the queue.   I got fed up with waiting and walked out.   The next business I went to was the same so I walked out of there too.  At this time of year I would have thought that they would put on more staff.

Visitors yesterday afternoon and 3 more this afternoon.

The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

That’s not very helpful Mab. It makes me cross when businesses don’t seem prepared for this time of year. I realise they may be short of staff but I’m sure they could at least someone extra.
It was hot here again today.

All the banks have closed around where I live but I can get money from the post office. I took all my coins for the year in before the bank closed but from now on I’ll let the grand-kids have it and they can deal with the problem of finding a bank that takes money.  I believe you have to tip it into a machine that counts it and I can’t be bothered finding a branch that has one of those machines. I feel sorry for the oldies who don’t do online banking.

Yes, Judy, so many businesses have changed over the years.  When we first started up I used to get a whole range of postage stamps for mailing out items then, one day I went in to restock and was told they don't issue stamps any more!  Well, you can get perhaps 2 - 3 different values of stamps, but we used to hold about 15 or so of different values.  Their main focus is now on their bits and pieces that they sell in their "Post Shop"s.  In a way I understand with so many people sending emails it has cut into their base business, but if we ran our business the same way as the PO runs theirs we would have had to close down years ago due to inefficiency, etc.

As for the banks ... we used to have the main four and a couple of the smaller banks as well down our street, now we only have WBC and CBA.  The absence of banks is a huge challenge for businesses, particularly retail where we handle cash transactions - fortunately we are with the WBC and they have deigned to remain open ... so far.

These businesses are no longer there for their customers but for their share holders.

Had a Woolies delivery at 7 am. Then had the dreaded blood test that I have been putting off for 6 months. Bunnings is open until 10 pm.  Went last night and managed to get most of what I wanted. 1 inexperienced girl on checkout. Poor kid.
I think it might be good to go shopping late.

I will be going down at about 6.00 this morning for my groceries, just hoping the shelf stackers have been busy last night and everything I want will be available.

Some housework today, no cooking. It's a bit too warm.

Picking up Xmas ham and a hamper as a gift. Making Strawberry Conserve and having my hair trimmed.
Last evening we sat upstairs and watched the storm pass us by.

So late for lunch 3pm that they gave us free apple and almond muffins!! We got caught in the storm it was such heavy rain but nothing like Geelong .
