Hello all. That's a lot of rain JD. Thanks Gert.
Storm today not quite as bad here, we've had worse. But so wet and miserable. The whole nation is fed up. We are lucky though on our hilltop.  Animals all inside (inc cow) happy and house progressing. The Somerset farmers have it real bad.
Carpet down in our bedroom today... However they didn't ease the door...  I was in the outside office laying carpet tiles. So will get sorted next week. Lots to do this weekend and I have visitors next week. Collecting bedroom curtains tomorrow. Little by little we are re making progress.
Just put grains to soak for bread tomorrow.
More woodstaining to do before flooring can be done next week.
Night all
X

DJ I am glad your animals are protected. The floods look dreadful on tv.
Have fun with your visitors next week. I hope she/they are bringing their gum boots.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Good afternoon/evening lovelies.
Good morning DJ.
We had gale force winds last night and it's still very windy.DH has been out with his chainsaw to cut and remove a tree that had blown down across our lane.Another tree is resting on an overhead cable so we will lose power at sometime. :-))

Hi CC.... Gee you poor people are really copping it!! I've been reading some accounts on another forum and farmers in particular are experiencing horrific damage. One's barn was literally flattened in the wind and goats, llamas and chooks had to be dug out from the debris, these winds seem to be like tornadoes from the descriptions.  A friend of mine this afternoon said she had read that these conditions only occur every 200+ years or so.... Would that be right....?

Apparently it hasn't been this bad for 250 years GF. Flood levels are a record high.Ground water is also a record high,so the standing water can't go anywhere. These low depressions are just constantly coming one after another. :-)) I really feel sorry for the people who's houses are flooded. It just takes months and months to put things right. It's ironic that we have too much rain and parts of Australia hasn't had rain for two years. :-\
