It was reported a few days ago that a new test would soon be available that would mean Pap smears every 5 years. Like the sound of that. Got my mammogram results yesterday, all good.  I had heard horror stories of how painful, certainly wasn't the case for me. No trouble, so do it ladies, something you can do for you.

I have a Pap smear one year and the mammogram the next. This year it is the lucky mammograms turn. Usually around June.

And these days it is all digital. No fiddling with plates and no waiting about to check the films. Takes 10minutes tops.

Great photo CC. Love the cows and the talk on tests. I have mine every two years too. You just don't mess around with things down there. Thanks for the info on mammograms mich. It's good to know I don't have to worry about that for awhile. My girlfriend is a breast cancer survivor at 40. She keeps telling me that I should have regular ones. It nice to know that I don't need too. Thanks.

I have a Pap smear next Wednesday, every 2 years for me. Mammo every year as there is family history, got that done in Feb.
A friend of mine had bowel cancer at age 51. Fortunately she came through it ok. She said the one thing we could all do for her was to go and have a Colonoscopy, so DH and I both did. It is now a 5  yearly thing to add to the list.  Have been twice now and it's not as bad as everyone thinks.  :)

I have had a pap smear every two years and have been told I no longer need one any more as I turn 70 next month ??? ??? ??? ???

Have a colonoscopy every five years as there has been bowl cancer in the family.

To my shame I have never had a mammogram.  My boobies are very large and I don't think I like the idea of them being flattened like little  pancakes, ouch.  I know I know I should have it done.

Mab I am very well endowed too. If there is any pain at all it is only for a few seconds and very often the squashing causes no pain at all.

I have my colonoscopy regularly. I was thrilled as my last one was clear so I am on the 5 yearly schedule now, not annually. I don't mind the procedure at all, it is the before stuff that I detest. I actually count down the hours. And now it is every 5 years. YIPPEE AND HURRAY.

I am feeling rather cross  >:( right now - just slipped over cleaning the shower and landed funny on my wrist, which is now swelling and mighty sore.  >:( Thankfully it is the left one so I can still do stuff with my right hand.  :) And...the shower cleaning is not finished... >:( but it is going to have to wait!  :)
