Missed you. I was there about 4.30, but flying with Qantas.

We are here in Canberra now. Have met up with brother and SIL for coffee and gone for a walk around London Circuit.

Have never been to Canberra Cookie.  Are you there for anything special or just a look-see?  Enjoy yourselves.  :D

Thanks Jamberie. We could see some of the Enlighten festival from our hotel balcony last night. It looked good. I wasn't sure if I would see the balloons as I didn't think I would wake early enough. (I'm still on WA time), however DD has a meeting at 7.30 am so we will wake early and ill. Heck out the balloons. Being in Canberra with a car is certainly different to no car! My feet are sore.  :-X

Canberra has a lot of great thinks to see JulieO. I have been to most several times so not sure what I will get up to over the next couple of days while DD is at the conference. I want to see if I can go on a ride on the Lake.  It's not far to walk from the hotel.

Today we walked into the CBD and looked around. Met brother for lunch and then he took us out to Bungendore to see The Woodworks and we called at his place to see the changes since I was over last. Then back via Queanbeyan to the hotel as DD had a meeting.

Enjoy Canberra Cookie.

Today I had lunch with Judy at Semaphore, we had a lovely catch up.

My MIL gave me a handful of apples, so I've made apple cake from the TM5 chip.  Making Kezza's meatloaf for dinner, but I don't even feel hungry.  Wonder if I can get away with just having cake for dinner (I doubt if my DH will let me though).

I think paddleboating on the lake is better than a cruise Cookie :)
There are quite a few new and hip places to eat around town too. The Old Bus Depot Markets in Kingston are worth a look on Sunday morning too.

Popped into AA's store and had a lovely chat. Bought a bagful of goodies and can't wait to the Yum Cha cooking lesson for the forumfest in October.

Katie the cake looks lovely.
Thanks for the Paddle boat thought Jamberie. I plan to go down to the lake in the morning and have a walk round and a peek. Hopefully a sleep in too. I'm eating in at the hotel tonight as DD will be at a dinner. Then tomorrow night we are eating out with brother.

CP you look gorgeous in that photo. I hope to go down to AA in August when we are over there. (Sounds like we have had too many bubbles ;D)

We saw some of the balloons this morning. Really exciting.

We like to call it the "Bush Capital" Judy :)
When driving across different parts of town, you might be mistaken for thinking you've left the city completely. The beautiful trees Cookie posted are in the Parliamentary Triangle (or close to), so right in the heart of things. There are (were) also quite strict limits on building heights so you can see trees easily.

Cookie, looks lile you are staying in/near New Acton. There are a lot of nice restaurants in that area, the Nishi building  is worth a look, and houses "Monster" an award winning restaurant and bar..it's where Dani Valent stayed and ate when she was here.
