Experiments are always fun and just about always a success.  Chookie will be delighted to spoil you and glad that you are enjoying yourself Judy.

That is lovely, Chookie.  Their crew obviously appreciated and enjoyed your food.

Our favourite cafe - which just happens to be our next door neighbour - closes for good today so dinner will be whatever they have left at the end of the day.  Their food is always fresh and good quality and they will be sorely missed by many people up this end of our street.

We have run out of all the soups people had given us as well as all the food I has stocked up in the freezer on prior to my operation so it was Thai take away last night - a fabulous pad Thai for me, green curry with beef for DH.

There is nothing like the sound of rain on the roof when you have gone through such a long dry spell.

Many years ago, when we were in drought here, we had a French girl on work experience with us for a couple of months and when it started raining one night she and her housemates all came out and danced in the rain!

Your post just reminded me of my favourite winter mashed vege mix - potatoes, carrots and swede - I am going to have to wait a while before I have that again, unfortunately.

Our friend who has been keeping us 'topped up' with delicious soups for the past few weeks came in with the most delicious corn chowder on Friday - we managed to stretch it out over a couple of nights, but finished it off last night.  DH is anxious for me to be up on my feet again so I can make it myself - that's not going to happen for several more weeks yet, unfortunately.

Cookie, very exciting. Have you decided on your first trip. ?
I am sure Cookie would be sorely tempted to make a trip over to Victoria, via Adelaide!!!

You sound very brave, Mab, I wish I had your strength and fortitude.

I don't think DH and I will need to cook for at least the rest of the time we are on our break up here in Guildford.  Our neighbour bought over a huge pot of pumpkin soup, then a friend bought over more pumpkin soup, several foccacia halves and cake (they were the left overs from her DH's 60th birthday).  We had been invited but due to their circumstances (I would not have been able to get in on my knee scooter), we got to enjoy it yesterday instead.

Mab, vertigo is horrible, take it easy and have positive thoughts - they say that helps, I am not sure of that, but it certainly cannot hinder.  Take care

Have a great mini-holiday, Cookie.  I was thinking about your new motor home just the other week and wondered if you had received it yet or not - something exciting to look forward to.

I escaped today - we have headed up to Guildford for a few days' break.  I hadn't realised restricting it was to be tied to the bedroom.  Whilst DH was loading the car - I stood outside our shop for about 10 minutes, just enjoying seeing people on the street and breathing the fresh air.  Wonderful!

Back to the bedroom later in the week (another three weeks non weight bearing), but it is so so good to see different walls, if only for a couple of days.
