This is a response from JulieO, copied and added here as I have moved Chookies recipe.

Love the look of your buns Chookie, I will definitely give these a go.

This has probably helped me decide what to have for dinner Sunday night. Some sort of burger. Thanks Chookie, they look delicious.

Judy, thanks again for getting me out of a mess with my posting.
I have been thinking, you could make half the recipe. Still add the whole egg or beat it and add 1/2 to bread and other 1/2 for brushing.
Also, make the full mixture, divide in 1/2 and add spice and fruit to one 1/2.
Or , use 1/2 for Cinnamon scrolls.
Or, make vegetarian, use Nuttelex.

My pleasure Chookie, I haven’t had to do that for a while so I really had to think about it and hoped it would work.
Love the alternatives you can use this dough for, bread is not yet on my allowable foods though.

I made these today. They are certainly soft and light. I only made 6 rolls as we will use them for burgers tonight and I will pop the others in the freezer.

They look good, Cookie.
I made the full mix today, but divided it in 1/2.  I made 6 small plain buns with one 1/2 and added  a little spice, home made peel and a handful of sour dried cherries to the other half.  Made 4 large fruit buns. From what I can remember, the fruit buns were very much like the Bath buns we had in Bath many years ago.

I’m pleased Cooki.  The fruit buns made with this recipe are also nice.  No added sugar just whatever fruit you fancy.

Julie, I will be interested to see what you think.
I had 1 or breakfast.  It had been frozen. I toasted it.  1/2 with 1 poached egg and the other half with honey fresh from our hive.  Froze well and toasted well.

This is a very soft dough. I’m posting a photo of it when kneaded.  After rising , put plenty over flour on mat and hands when shaping.
