One last thing CornishCream, taste-wise, what is it like (I know you're not eating it but it would be interesting to get some feedback on the difference of taste compared to a traditional cake...)?
I wish you could share it with all of us CC, it looks so tasty. Oh well, maybe I will have to make 1, or 2, or 3 or 4 - can't think of anyone to give the starter to that would be prepared to follow it through to the end.
Excellent, he's all done. Looks fantastic CC. I bet he smells good too Thank you so much for the detailed process. Now we understand clearly what needs to be done. I'm going to start my own Herman. The only thing I'm concerned about is it pretty cold here in Tassie at the moment. Might wait a couple more weeks when we have the fire going all the time and the house is nice an warm all day.
This is a great thread, CC. Are you keeping part of Herman to carry on the next generation, or are you "Herman'ed" out? Thanks for seeing it through to the end for us - such good fun watching him change and grow day by day.
it was a great journey CC, please thank your DH for me,ok give him a hug 2
Nearly forgot about Herman until I checked the posts here!! I went off to Albany yesterday, fed him before I left, but forgot to stir him today.
