Omelet / Omelette - Can I cook one in the Varoma?
« on: November 05, 2011, 10:06:55 am »
I've tried to find instructions on how to make an omelet / omelette but with no success.  I'm thinking I should be able to cook one in the Varoma.
Can any one please point me in the right direction?
Thankyou

Hi suz, welcome to the forum with your first enquiry.  I couldn't find it on the forum but there is one here.

Thanks for the reply.  I'll try it tonight.
(I have spent all this time trying to work out how to reply and thank you.......unknown to me, my logged in time had lapsed).  Thanks anyway.

Glad to be of help, it is frustrating when you can't find what you are looking for. You'll find you way around here eventually suz.  Why not pop over here and introduce yourself formally.  Just click on "new topic" and tell us a bit about yourself.  The more you use the forum the easier you will find it.

Hi Suz, welcome and thanks for even suggesting that one can make an omeletter in the Varoma!  And thanks to you judydawn for providing the link to a recipe.  Interesting, and now on my list of things to make.

Thermomixer gave us quite a lot of information about this. You'll find it here.

Oh yes - i do this all the time - you just need wet baking paper - there is a recipe in the FSA cookbook that has cubed potato cooking in the basket at the same time - a quick, yummy lunch.  ;)

Thanks Cookie1 for the link, certainly seems delicious.

Nay-nay, I often come across the expression 'baking paper', but not sure what it is.  Is it what we in the UK call greaseproof paper?  We tend to use it to line cake tins and then grease the paper.

This should clear up the difference between baking paper and greaseproof paper.

You get used to it, they speak a weird language here  :'(

Another thing to note is their tablespoons are 20ml, not 15ml!

Thanks judydawn.  I have done some research and it seems that our big supermarkets sell it so will get some next time I go to town.

Ha, Tarasis, thank you for reminding me about that!  I have several of the Australian Women's Weekly cookery books and was always getting caught out there.  Luckily TM recipes work mostly in grams  :)
