Wow, fantastic kitchen, Stef, so much space!

I love your fruit bowls!  :)
S

The bowls are from ikea, cost me 2euro per piece.. Gives a good look and helps to give the tomatoes a sweet full flavor.. Even storebought ones !... They just need light and warmth.

Tnx for the aprreciative comments guys.. Cant wait to start making doughs and pasta and chocolate on my new bench space :)

Looks great Stef! How exciting.

I would love a new kitchen. I know lots of people would kill for the one I have but there's so many improvements I'd make haha

I love your kitchen, especially all that bench space and the lime green walls.
You must be soo happy ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
How wonderful Stef. All the counter space plus moving around space. I love it.

Gert

Sorry guys and girls, i just discovered this thread yesterday and i tried to read it top to bottom but it is just too much..

I did look at all your pictures though and love this thread.. it is interesting to see how different and yet the same kitchens can be all over the world.

Our project started last year..  ended with a completely new sunroom of 21 mē , some knocked out doors and windows and the old 21 mē old kitchen, a 6 mē pantry and a 12 mē cellar..  the whole idea is to bring part of the kitchen in to the sun room (and dining space) so we would be able to see the garden all the time (which is very green because of all the rain we have here in Belgium). Same rain is obviously responsible for the darkness in the old part of the kitchen..

The old kitchen was very dark and now i will be able to cook with way more light flowing in.. So yes Amy, it was all worth it.

I insisted on drawers every where it was possible, so i would be able to reach all my stuff without going on my knees and crawling in corner cabinets.. so that means i have now 32 drawers, 40 to 80 cm, two of those being 80 cm fridge drawers built in the island, to give me space for bigger plates, pots and so on.. i have to have to cut leaks and celery in two to fit them in the fridge... now with the new fridge those days are over..
In addition to the kitchen space, i have about 30 meter of shelves in the pantry and about the same amount in the cellar, and believe me.. they are all full ! Except for about 8 of my kitchen drawers, that i keep empty until i find my way around the new kitchen

Gert. we need the moving space, since my personal cooking aid is Zeno, our Weimaraner who keeps the floor clean while i cook  (hahahaha)... and in 8 more days our NEW PUPPY is coming... Golden retriever named LUKA... with two big size dogs we needed the extra space big time...

Emerald Sue, sorry to say the lime green on the walls is going...  first we are installing white glass mosaic tiles and then are going for a neutral color for the coming years, just to see how much light we can create in the darker part of the kitchen..

oooh, i almost forgot... here is a picture of me ! It was taken outside, in the garden, for the back cover of my cooking book.

My cookbook, is the result of my food allergy.. i can not have any additives, and for sure not MSG.. All processed and canned food was forbidden for me, so i needed to start making everything from scratch.. ketchup, Tabasco, tomato paste, spice mixes, stocks and broths...  things people used to do all the time..  i started to experiment (this is before i got the thermomix) and came up with some pretty good stuff, if i may say so myself.. but all the time i lost my recipes, written down here and there on pieces of paper.. so i decided to bundle them, and take pictures..  and before i knew it, i had a cook book.. i edited it myself, and it is  only available in Flemish.. but i did adapt some of the original recipes to the Thermomix and started placing some on this forum.

I also learned a lot from here ! So this forum is a real win win situation for me .. just love it...

I try to put the book cover on this forum and a few pics of the dogs :)

the old gray one is Zeno, our 12 year old weimaraner.. the pup Luka is the lighter of the two puppies in the other pic.

I know all about using dogs for floor cleaning in the kitchen. The Lab  will be the best Hoover ever.

I love all the drawers  and the refrigerated  drawers would be a dream come true.

We will be visiting Belgium in our Around the World in 80  plates Thread so keep in touch when we get near your place. It is just for fun.

Best of luck with the cookbook. The photos look enticing. The dogs are absolutely adorable. Zeno looks so human! Love the eyes...so intelligent.

I can just smell those puppies belly's . I love that new soft smell.  Absolutely beautiful. Will Zeno  be ok with Luka?
