Beef Casserole
« on: August 22, 2011, 10:37:52 am »
I can't seem to find a beef casserole recipe. I have one that takes ages to make (without the TMX) and tastes delicious. It's too large to make in the TMX but can someone convert it for me to something you can make in the TMX, as I'm still not confident of converting myself?

It's this one: http://www.exclusivelyfood.com.au/2006/05/beef-casserole-recipe.html

That does sound really nice Tasty, I'm sure someone will be able to convert it for you. Would be a great one to try. I'm not confident with converting casseroles myself as yet so I will leave it up to someone else to try.

Tasty, have a look at Gourmet Beef casserole and see if you can adapt your recipe to that.  Most casseroles for the TMX use 500 - 600 g of meat but this one uses 1kg so you should be able to follow these directions to convert your own recipe. TMX casseroles don't seem to need as much liquid as casseroles cooked on the stove so check those quantities against this recipe as well and adjust accordingly. Hope this is a help to you.
Beef and Guiness stew is another one on the forum you could check out.

Thanks Judy - I didn't come across that one but it seems good and uses the ingredients I usually have at home. I might be able to try it next week as I have already planned the menu this week.

Is there any way to tag recipes I want to try or save them on here somewhere?

Others may know the question to this one - I just print them out and file them under the different categories until I get around to trying them then they get moved to the 'tried & true' recipe box.
