I made the breakfast bars with the addition of choc chips and omitting the nuts. No need for icing and really yummy as a relatively healthy snack. 5/5 Nigella!!!

Thats one big artichoke Uni, never tried them, must do so.

The breakfast bars are great as they are and no they don't need the icing.  I have never iced them before, was just experimenting with the yogurt topping.   DH said it made them taste like the muesli bars with the  yogurt on top.

Did you do the bars in TM or just in a bowl?
Thanks for the link BTW, will be trying them too.  :)

I  just put all the dry ingredients in a bowl, then warmed the condensed milk up in a small pan, then mixed all together.
I have always used the cranberries, but have found a packet of mixed cranberries, pomegranate, cherries and blueberries in the cupboard.  I can't remember buying it but will use that next time I make the bars.   :)

Even though I'm not cooking much other than the evening meal I am enjoying reading this. What an enormous artichoke.

Thx for pointing me in the direction of nigellas breakfast bars. Not a cranberry in sight so I chopped up some apricots instead, added a bit of crio bru and we'll see how they turn out ...

I agree with Marie, CP, your bars will be great :D

I just popped some muffins in the oven... they are orange choc chip flavour, but since I used M&M's they are sort of a blue-green colour.... the mixture also seemed very runny, so I'm not sure how they are going to turn out :o

Haven't tried one yet as I've just had a bit of choc coated Turkish delight. I need to give some to DH to take with him back to the mine site, as I can't really see DD and I eating the whole lot. Had a taste of the mix and it was yummy.
