Bowl with a bent rim
« on: November 24, 2013, 06:41:59 am »
One of my bowls has a bent rim which only effects the use of the bowl when steaming as the steam leaks from the lid because of the dent.
Is there anyway I could possible try to fix it? Was wondering if I really gently tried to bend it back to position with some pliers and a cloth to protect the bowl. Haven't been game enough to try yet.
I'm assuming someone knocked the bowl off the bench and didn't tell me.

Dede, if the bowl is out of warranty, it would only cost you $66 per hour to get that looked at by the TMX technician.  I could pick it up on 7 Dec if that helps.

That sounds ok Cecilia. But I wouldn't want the bowl costing me more than it would cost me to buy a new one. It's not a huge bend but it still effects the use of the bowl. The lid has to be pushed down slightly to get it to lock into place as well.
I wonder if it would be worth me ringing HO to see what they suggest?

How long does the bowls warranty last? I can't remember exactly when I brought it now but I'm thinking almost 2 years

Dede DD dropped one of my bowls ages ago. DH tried to gently bend it back into shape. It looks perfect but is very hard to get the lid on. I don't use it much now for that very reason.

Ok I thought that could be an issue Cookie.
maybe I should just leave it alone and get myself a new bowl and blade set when it comes up at half price again. But the only issue there is I don't know who I would invite to a demo. I wouldn't like to waste a consultants time if no one is actually interested in a thermomix (or already got one)

Thanks Cecilia. I will give them a ring and see what they suggest. :)
