Nice to hear a positive review.  Still haven't caught up on all the posts yet but some I have read made me think that perhaps I shouldn't have brought the book.

No doubt about this one ... 5/5.

Our version was egg-free and meat-free.  Simple but powerful mix of flavours.  Yum!

The recipe uses brown rice, could you use white and would you have to reduce cooking time?

Made this for dinner tonight and it was a hit in our house.  Takes a little bit of time to cook & prepare but it is well worth it.  I highly recommend adding the prawns to the dish as per the suggestion as it just gives it that something extra.  Will definitely make this one again.  5/5

Made this last week and really enjoyed it.
I will definitely make it again, and will add prawns and beansprouts.
I liked the texture of the brown rice.

5/5  :)

Thank you for posting this review!

I was having another OMG it's 5pm and I have no idea what to cook moments, came on the forum &  read this and as a bonus I had all the ingredients in hand!

It was a winner and I think I prefer it to Quirky Jo's (except it does use a fry pan and isn't quite as ingenuitive as Jo's) . I'm not usually a fan of brown rice, but the texture was great in this one :)
Will make again!

So I did make this one again and it was delicious. I added diced chicken into the bottom of the Varoma with about 4 minutes to go of the first 'cook' of the rice. I also used that cheap frozen veg mix (carrot, peas and corn) which saved a lot of time.
It easily serves 6 adults...my guests were impressed that I was able to start cooking when they arrived and dinner was on the table in 40 minutes :) -it was even good enough for guests with the frozen veg  ;D

Made this today. 350g rice with 1L of water and then to add veggies to it for another 8 mins without adding more water, was a big misprint I thought.

It was Yum though and prefer it to the coconut one.

I made this again last night.
I added broccoli to the varoma dish. I also sautéed sliced mushrooms with the bacon, and added a pack of beansprouts and a tin of water chestnuts as well.
It is really tasty, and makes a lot, even without the additions!
