Hope is is nothing Marie. I doubt the bank would send you an email. I think they  phone you . I know my banks always phone no matter what time of day or night it may get a suspected fraudulent claim.

I was skeptical too Gert, so I phoned the number on my bank statment. Yep, had to cancel. They stopped it before it went through, transaction  coming out of Ireland.  Have to wait for new card early next week.  Thank goodness they picked it up. Apparently it happens a lot.

DJ, you are right about them being a minefield.  I am with Virgin at the moment but going to phone a company called itrinity today who have all our phone accounts.  They actually seem to be a pretty ethical (yes, I did say ethical, and hope I don't regret it), lot and I will see what they can come up with.  I certainly don't trust Vodaphone and the others all seem to be pretty well "much of a muchness" as my mum would say.

Marie, so long as you get on to the fraud quickly most banks are pretty good with their response - is it a good or bad thing to be without a card on the run up to Christmas?  Might inadvertently save you heaps (well, you've got to find the silver lining to the cloud if at all possible!).  Good luck with that, I am sure it will all be well.

Marie, thats good the bank picked it up so quckly.

Its the time of year that banks are more watchful as there is a lot of fraud going on. Nasty people.

Marie they really should phones possible. What if you did not check  your emails or were away. Yikes! It is very inconvenient to have to wait for a new card.  Happened to me once the day before we were going OS. Saved me money in the long run.
