Thanks Gert I will start keeping a proper food diary and see how it goes

Be good if both you and your son kept a food diary just to compare. Good exercise for him to take control and make him aware of his own health. No  need to make a "thing" about it just jot it down.  He is old enough to figure it out himself if it is food related.

It used to be that certain foods  did not agree with our individual constitutions now it is all about allergic reactions which is entirely different so it may be something very simple and nothing at all to do with allergens in the food or environment.   Could be too much of a good thing on the day. Or as Nazar said a combo.

If I eat something with coconut milk I know that it is not going to "agree" with me but I am not allergic to it. It is just that my digestive system has a hard time with coconut cream/milk a and causes cramping like pains.

A lot of the "allergic" to foods is crapola in my opinion. Everybody functions differently but the same if you get me.  Small children hate certain foods  have over the top reactions and are therefore deemed "allergic" . I say small people are just smarter than their parents.

Not the case with big boys though. Let him take charge. If he eats a bucket load of chips  followed by pains in the gut then so be it. He knows what to do. They  could be cooked in cottonseed oil  which in some places  they run their cars on. In that case avoid cottonseed oil but you are not allergic to it.

Trial and error. That's life.

Thanks Gert we will both do one he is quite keen to get this sorted we were talking about this morning cutting out chips, twisties, shapes etc so I will make muffins and slices at least I know what is in them. He is quite skinny so didn't mind him eating a packet of small chips and shapes a day I am trying to fatten him up. He is 175cm and has just made it to 55kilos he sat on 50 kilos for ages  :)

I told him to make a list of alternatives he can have for snacks etc

Sounds like a smart kid.  Banana smoothies maybe added protein powder.  He will start to fill out soon enough. They usually have hollow legs at that age! ;D ;D

Yvette, banana and chocolate smoothies taste yummy. Use choc ice cream.

Muffins, slices, you can always reduce the sugar like I do.

Morning all thanks for the tips Robyn.

Does anyone use Rapadura sugar in their baking? Or just raw sugar?

Yvette, raw sugar is more processed than white sugar.
