How scarey re the baby BZB.    Glad she is ok now. Just wondering why she (the mum) didn't call the Ambo?     You are a great neighbor to take her in.
Astarra, that's what my DH said many, many times. I don't really know as my neighbour doesn't speak English well. She is from Afghanistan. I could understand the fear and desperation in her eyes though. Will never forget it
I'm just wondering BZB, if your neighbour knows and understands how to call the ambulance.  Maybe some instruction/training and practice what to say, even if it's just to say that the baby is very sick and needs an ambulance - address and phone number . . . just a thought . . .so lucky you were there for her!
a lady we know had just moved from new zealand when at a shopping centre her son dropped his 3 months old sister on her head  some body  called and ambulance  without her knowing it   and being new to australia not having ambulance  cover yet  she was charged and had to pay  $750 dollars .  baby was alright  just a bit of crying .

This weekend there is a big food festival in Margaret River. Heston is here and many others. I loved this photo of Adriano Zumbo . He said he couldn't find the jug for the thermomix so got the next best thing.

l was wanting to go there but was unable too  sounds like it should be a good weekend COOKIE  - the cheese course was run by a Ros Garstone  she lives in cow town  and does more advance courses too  she has been doing cheese making courses  since early 2000 and was train by the top people from cheese making in melb  ros owns a thermie so l told her about the forum and sent her a email with the link

l know its a bit late   but l thought of you ladies on monday
as l did a cheese workshop  we learnt how to make Camembert, ricotta ,masphere and quark
l was so fascinated with the whole process and was amazed how achievable it was for a home kitchen  and how easy accessible it was to buy the products to make the cheese
l am waiting very patiently for the camembert to ripen
