So much food to make and not enough people to eat it is my problem.
I have the other side of the problem Cookie. Everything gets eaten faster than I can cook it. I can spend all day cooking and am lucky if things last 24 hours Maybe I could rent them out? So sad and so true Gert. When my 3 children were in primary school they asked what allergies they had. When I told them none they all looked very disappointed. It took quite a while and a sustained effort to convince them no allergies was a good thing. ANNA what the heck? Dietary requirements for school excursions were difficult a decade ago. Now they must be an absolute nightmare! I took Portuguese tarts to one gathering and they contained gluten so couldn’t be eaten by many.
Their loss Chookie. I'll bet they were delicious.

I admire your willpower Cookie, and Chookie I am amazed at how many fabulous things you make I have cooking fatigue ATM The 3 adult "children" are all saving for big ticket items which is fantastic. The downside is that they know it's much cheaper and healthier to eat at home, or take food from home. So everyday I'm cooking large meals that serve 6-8 and if there are any leftovers (usually there's not), the fridge fairy gobbles them overnight. I made a Bimby chocolate cake Sunday morning and it didn't even last the day! Today I'm making my favourite Oatmeal crunchie biscuits (not everyone likes them ), savoury mince with brown rice for dinner and a large piece of corned meat for sandwiches is already in the slow cooker. I'll stop complaining now, tell myself that I am fortunate that the children are in my life and get on with restocking the fridge and pantry, again! Thank you all for listening

We travel with a jaffle iron too. Just the thing for a quick and easy meal over a campfire or on the gas cooker. We have all sorts of fillings including sweet ones. Apple slices, cinnamon and just a little butter mmm

That was just the trip home Judy. The trip up last Thursday for the funeral on Friday was similar. We spend the weekend catching up with family we hadn't seen for ages, some more than 20 years. I even got to chat with my Grade 1 teacher. Now that was entertaining.

Wow Mab. You've been busy. I'm sitting with my second cuppa trying to do a menu plan for the week as well as my on-line fruit and veg order for tomorrow. Don't really feel like cooking but I might give this slow cooker pot roast a go (I love her one pot and fast recipes) and some lamington cupcakes for Australia Day tomorrow.

That sauce looks yummy Chookie. Thanks Cookie, but hardly a heroine. I would have walked on given the choice. Par for the course really - a 7yr old speeding on his bike. Hopefully, child free walks in the future.
You are a star Michele. Could have been a totally different experience if he'd run into someone else. Cookie that sounds fun. I've discovered that a 10x magnifying mirror and an eyeliner pencil that looks good smudged with fingers are makeup kit essentials lol For the last couple of days the house and I have been recovering from an unexpected trip to central Queensland for a funeral. On Monday my brother and I left Rockhampton at 8am, and I arrived home in Sydney just before midnight after a long road trip, a Brisbane to Sydney flight and a long taxi ride due to night roadworks.

Be brave. But then to a lovely lady who has had needles in her eye this will be a breeze.
Absolutely! Hope all goes well today Chookie and then, when you're ready, back on deck.

That is so true Chookie. We now have stuff from three households here ATM. I am having trouble decluttering as I keep thinking that our "children" may need it when (maybe that should say if ) they ever move out. But maybe they will be like so many people who think that their house should look like something from Vogue or Home Beautiful from day 1 and they won't be interested in preloved stuff. So I keep procrastinating because I can't make up my mind. Eating out and shop surfing. What fun. Enjoy.

I was intrigued by your peanuts picture Cookie. The family farm where I grew up in central Queensland was in a peanut growing area. Your bush sounds different though. I remember lots of little yellow flowers on the bushes at our farm and the peanuts grew in a bunch under a bush. That variety was called Virginia Bunch for that reason I guess. Sadly we didn't get rich because all the peanuts grown had to be sold to the then Peanut Marketing Board who set the price they would pay, and then paid the grower in instalments, if my long term memory is correct Not sure if such practices would be allowed today.

What a pain Gayle. I'm lucky my bread tins don't even need greasing.
My tins are usually fine too Cookie. It's just this bread. Maybe because it's very heavy, mostly rye, has no oil and is in the tin for nearly 4 hours. Going to try cake release today. Wish me luck. Djinni, what brand was that baking paper? Obbie, congrats to your Dad for his 90 th.
Barwon Heads is a real holiday town and yesterday we attended their Farmers Market. It was great. We then went for coffee and it was nearly impossible to park. Ral has this charmed trick of usually parking outside exactly where we want to go. It happened twice yesterday.
Here in Sydney we consider that the work of the parking fairy. She obviously likes Ral The paper was Multix Bake Chookie.

Belated best wishes to your dad Robyn. Oh no Michele. Hope they do a good job if you have to wait that long. Lol Mab. I have thought of doing that but we have no spare rooms. Today I have been trying to decide if I should eat the black bread I baked yesterday. To date, I've had trouble with the loaf sticking to tins so this time I lined the tin with baking paper. The pic shows what happened. The paper is supposed to be fine up to 220 degrees, I had the oven set to 200 degrees. I have complained to the company involved. They were very nice but could not tell me what I wanted to know. They told me to stop using the product and are sending me a gift voucher. They also assured me that the bread is safe to eat. However the paper has a nasty smell so I'm not so sure. Now that I have reread this, I think I'll throw away the bread

Hi Courton ( waves). Lovely to hear from you. I don't use Enjo either but I have received some pieces as gifts and it is beautiful, quality stuff. However I use the colour-coded cheapie packs from Aldi. They seem to do the job and it doesn't matter if certain family members lose them, or use them for purposes for which they were not designed I did a bit research when I was invited to an Enjo party a little while back. This post helped me make up my mind. Hope this helps.
