Thanks for posting that Lellyj as I have been meaning to make this. Have loved every other recipe in the Inian book that I have made so assumed this would be good too. Not sure whether to give it a go using your comments  andiesenji or give it a miss now.

Recipe Requests / Re: Recipe request: okonomiyaki
« on: August 11, 2011, 12:22:41 pm »
I made this for dinner last night and completely forgot about the suggested baking powder. Found it a bit stodgy but we all really enjoyed the flavour. I think adding the baking powder would have helped. Had it with the Kewpie mayo and Okonomiyaki sauce (we live very close to an Asian grocery). Will definitely make again.

I think you are probably right. I seem to do it regularly which is rather frustrating. Especially when I know that what I am looking for is actually posted somewhere.

Thanks JD.  I thought it must be here somewhere but I couldn't find it when I searched. I must have been doing something wrong.

This might be a really dumb question, but do you cook sushi rice the same way as the basmati rice in the EDC?

Recipe Requests / Re: Hedgehog slice, tried and tested?

This is my Gran's recipe - sorry, not yet converted.

110g butter
250g Marie biscuits (whole pkt if Westons, weigh if Arnotts), crushed
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 egg
2tbs cocoa
Dash of vanilla

Put butter & sugar in saucepan, bring to boil.  Add cocoa & vanilla.  Remove from stove, add lightly beaten egg, stirring all the time.
Put walnuts & biscuits in bowl, mix. Add cocoa mix & stir.
Press into greased log tin & put in refrigerator to set.
Ice with chocolate, lemon icing and sprinkle with more chopped walnuts or with coconut.  Slice & serve and enjoy!

Choc icing:
Mix together 1tbs butter, 1 tbs cocoa, splash of lemon juice, icing sugar & a bit of milk to soften. Sorry, it's trial and error for the icing as I dont have quantities and haven't made it for a while.

Phew, first recipe post  Hope this is what you are after.  :)

I've made these a couple of times too and my meat loving family loves them.  Have wowed family and friends and amazed them with the fact they are vego. Really easy to make and fantastic with the EDC puff pastry.

Cakes / Re: Carrot cake with nuts Thermomix easy
« on: May 17, 2011, 04:19:02 am »
Made this the other day with pecans, walnuts, carrots and dare I say it, pumpkin as I didn't have enough carrots. It was lovely & moist and so very easy. The best thing is that my 3 DS's all thought it was one of the best chocolate cakes they had tried :D. I didn't dare tell them it had veggies in it. Thanks for posting this recipe Ozzy-DJ.

You should give some of the recipes a go. They taste and smell Devine!  I have used it more than the EDC and have only had my TMX for a few weeks.

Just as well the TMX saves us so much time that we can spend it trawling through here!   ;)

Being new to all this, I have got into the habit of checking here before I attempt something for the first time. I'm not sure what I would do if the Internet went down before I could check. Probably have a complete break down!!

Maybe we should find a way to hide veges in chocolate lol.

Hmm, I wonder if they would be fooled if I just colored everything chocolate??
