all good Merrilyn thanks for asking

does it take u long make the coats ?

Sorry Uni, I missed this.  It takes me about an hour to run up a coat after cutting it out.  The most time consuming bit is adding the binding to the edges and attaching the velcro strap to go around the belly to hold the coat on.  Dog pounds tend to be cold and wet, and the thought of a poor frightened little dog shivering in the back of the pen just gets to me.

'Morning CC.  Morning ladies.  I don't have much planned for today, so might do a bit of sewing.  I'm making dog coats for a dog rescue centre I support.  Already bought the fleecy material.  I just need to get on with it.

How is your mouth feeling Uni?

Good luck Frozzie.  Hope it all goes smoothly and we'll chat again when you reach our shores.

Awww he's so cute Stef.  Give him a big hug from all of us.

Nonomix, I get my preserving jars from ebay.  Look for Ball  Mason jars.  They have a wide mouth jar which could be used for cake preserving.

25
Oh that's so interesting.  I thought you had to use the high pressure canner for meats.  Thankyou for sharing that Stef.

Stef I love your kitchen, and that's a wonderful way to have fresh cake in the house.

You obviously have a pressure canner to do your meats and low acid vegetables, but do you just can the cake mixture in a water bath or do you use the pressure canner.

I bought a breville mini pie maker on eBay and it was delivered yesterday so I guess I'll be making party pies & quiches this weekend.

Chrissa I've been looking at that.  Be interested to know how you get on.

Good morning ladies.  I have the grandchildren for a sleepover.  I guess they'll be waking up soon, but it's all quiet here at the moment.  I love having them sleep over.

Jess, I've been thinking of you.  Stay strong.  One door closes and another one opens.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Hally that's lovely of you, and it will be such a comfort to her knowing meals are waiting in the freezer.  She can just concentrate on getting well without having to think of preparing food.
