I loved that story Judy.
Chookie it is so hard to part with cookbooks. The lift will so handy for you both.
I did my grocery shopping today. I’m going to have to find another source for my bread flour. I like the Laucke but I can only get it in 5kg lots now. I prefer to buy 10kg bags as it is much cheaper. I will go exploring soon as I’m nearly out.

Chookie you will have not chosen too many cookbooks. Such a great idea with the lift . Is there a back up if the power goes out ?
Judy that story is fantastic re the Queen , I to have watched a lot but had to turn it off or nothing was getting done .
Today I weighed and measured flour and spices for our annual school  ( not for 3 years ) Christmas cake baking . It’s a lot of fun so good to be talking to other parents . Mind you a lot of concentration needed too . Home to cook dinner early as we had online parent teacher Interviews tonight .

Today I went on a paddle boat lunch trip on the Murray. Up at 5.30 am and back home by 5.30 pm, a long day and in spite of lots of rain throughout the day we had a wonderful time with lots of laughs.

I had a chance to go shopping yesterday (this doesn’t happen often!) and picked up a couple of pairs of shoe laces for a pair of shoes I purchased recently.  They are German made and I had only had them for about 4-6 weeks when the laces started to fray so I went back to the shop to get replacements.

They had to contact the manufacturer then wait for them to be sent to Australia.  They arrived about two weeks ago so when I went to pick them up I apologised for the delay before I could collect them and went to pay, but they would not take payment!  The laces themselves would not have been particularly expensive but, unusually these days, the shop had taken the time to order them in from overseas for me then they made no charge.  I will definitely go back to them again.

This week has been a visitor week so far. It seems to happen like that. Lots of visitors and phone calls for a few days then none for a week or two. 😀😀😀

I did the grocery shopping this morning.  Our local Coles store has been going backwards for a little while now but today it was a disgrace.  The aisles were stacked with trolleys  waiting to be unloaded, the floors were not clean and scattered with rubbish, and staff were not in the least bit helpful.

Gee that isn’t very good Mab. Cleanliness should be the most important thing.

Judy I adore paddle steamers. Where did you leave from?

Must be lack of staff surely, it will turn people off if they don’t address it.

Lovely spot isn’t it?
D D and I went over to Garden City shopping this morning-for a change. They have a Dymocks which we love.
I have a bit of a cold and DD tells me I have to do a RAT.  I’m not too keen. I wear a mask when I’m out so I must have caught it from one of the visitors this week. 🥺🥺

I haven’t been to Murray Bridge for decades cookie, we were impressed with the cleanliness around the river tourist areas but the Main Street was pretty quiet as they now have 2 large shopping centres there, one built over a decade ago and the second one about 7 years ago. You would have seen the Bunyip down by the river, that’s had a cave built around it and it now costs nothing to watch it do its thing.

We had a lovely surprise happen last yesterday afternoon.  Two of our GD came for a surprise visit, one is from Geelong and the other lives in Queensland.  They had arranged for some Japanese entrees to be delivered before dinner with another surprise to come.  About 6.30pm two more GD arrived after they had finished work. They live about an hour away  and they brought the main course from our favourite Italian restaurant with them.  We had a lovely time with them with lots of talk and laughter.
