I just scored a free oval thermoserver cause I had a varoma demo and someone bought a machine from the demo.  Just looking on ebay and saw this one

Thinking I might sell mine and make a bit of moolah!  Can't believe how much it's going for!

There's another one too going for a bit less at the moment

Yes, I also saw that recipe on the taste website and have made it a couple of times.  Had it last night actually!

When cooking the quinoa, I saute some minced garlic first, then add the water with the garlic and cook the quinoa in that to give it a bit more flavour.  I do lose a little bit of the quinoa through the basket holes, but not much.

I also add a sprinkle of cheese on top  in the last 20 minutes

I like my vegies chunky in it though so just chop by hand and fry in the frypan.

Cakes / Arrowroot Biscuits

I've actually just posted this over on the official thermomix recipe community but thought I would post the link here.  I have so many slices etc that I make that call for arrowroot biscuits, I go to make it, then discover I have none in the cupboard!  So this recipe is great to have on hand for such occasions.

I think that that was the first time the machine has actually been referred to by name as a thermomix.  It certainly got a lot of exposure last night

My mum might be taking up that offer.  She accidentally put her tmx down on a hotplate that she thought was turned off.  It wasn't.    :o  The plastic base bit got quite melted  :(

I've uploaded my recipe!

Trying to think of any more recipes I could enter now to give myself a better chance.

Do you think if my recipe gets lots of views and comments that the judges might look more favourably at my recipe?  If so, please feel free to make some (positive  ;)) comments  :-*

Bread / Re: TMX vs KA for bread making

I've never used a KA, but I much prefer doing my doughs in my breadmaker over the tmx.  I just seems to have better rise and texture.  It's also easier as I don't need to worry about rising time etc

Chit Chat / Re: Best budget place to stay in Bali or Thailand

yeah, when people in Aus think overseas holiday to Asia they tend to think Bali or Thailand.

When I was researching Malaysia I read that Penang wasn't as nice as Langkawi.  As in, the beaches weren't as nice, and was also a bit more of a bogan attracter.  But, as I haven't been there personally, I can't say whether this is true or not.  But it was the reason why we decided to go to Langkawi.

I didn't do a whole lot of shopping whilst over there, but KL is definitely the place to do it.  You'll need to head to markets though to get the rip offs.

When we went, we got cheap airfares on Air Asia.  It only cost us a total of $600 return for the two of us!  And then internal flights are also cheap too.  Air Asia can often be a bit unreliable though so make sure you allow yourself plenty of time if you're doing a transfer.

Ooh, I love planning holidays!  If you have any other questions feel free to ask :)

My SIL bought one last time they were on sale.  She kept it in the box and then waited to read what everyone's reviews were.  Because most of them came back bad, she put it on ebay and made $80 from it!  Someone else obviously wanted one really badly!

Chit Chat / Re: Bad Customer service

Just make sure the bad employee isn't a family member or friend of the boss' though!

But I would definitely make a complaint regarding the bad service.  Feedback is important for all business', both negative and positive.  What they choose to do with that feedback is their choice (or their downfall is they don't do anything about it), but at least you know you've made yourself heard.

The only thing to take into consideration with Malaysia over Thailand, is that Thailand has cheaper accommodation, food and shopping.  While Malaysia is still definitely cheaper than Aus, it is more than Thailand.  I've been to both Malaysia and Thailand and I would rate them both the same in terms of experience though.

if you're just looking for a relaxing beach holiday why not go the Pacific Islands?   There's often good deals to be found for there.  Or the Whitsundays or Cairns/Port Douglas?

I've been to Krabi, Thailand before and loved it.  It's a lot more quaint than the Phuket and the likes and you can either relax or do a few day trips around the area.

Another option to think about is Malaysia.  There are some wonderful beach resorts over there and you can often pick up very cheap flights on Air Asia.  I've been to Langkawi and Kuala Terrenganu and both were lovely.  Langkawi is a busier kind of place but I wouldn't say that it's bogan central.  There's also plenty of budget accommodation to choose from there.  We stayed at this accommodation while in Langkawi

yeah, I've made this several times and love it.

I blitz up the apple into chunky-ish pieces before cooking.

I also use 75% juice, 25% water so it's not quite so sweet.  And yes, less sugar.  In fact, I only put sugar in when cooking the apple and that's it.
