Physio with a new therapist, still at Kieser gym.  New exercises and told to wear my shoes as I am doing them as my foot is very sore because I was in a moon boot for so long and the foot has to get used to being 'normal' again.

Your cake looks great, Cookie.

I have a bundt tin question - if you cook a cake in a Bundt or round tin with a central hole in it (clumsy wording there, but I am not sure what you call the central column in a round tin!).  Anyway, getting away from that, do you still cook the cake in such a tin for the same amount of time as you would for a 'standard' cake in a round tin, or for a shorter time and the same temperature?

Celebration Punch

My neighbour made some yesterday and bought it over for "dusk" drinks.  It is absolutely gorgeous.  Even the guys got into it instead of wine!

Mab, sorry to read your update, hope things are getting a little easier now.

I had a clean out in my pantry a couple of months ago, Chookie and, like you, threw out a lot of old herbs and spices then split them into two sections - herbs on one side, spices on the other, however, I am thinking that I might put them back into alphabetical order, it seemed easier to find things that way.

Now, there's a question Judy!

I am not sure about the macadamias.  They should have the right consistency but I think their taste in the cream could be more pronounced as cashews are a more neutral tasting nut whereas macadamias have a slightly stronger taste and I am not sure about pre-soaking macadamias either (pre-soaked nuts tend to break up more rapidly when whizzed for 1 minute at 9 but because macadamias are such a large solid nut they may need more than 1 minute).  I have never had enough of this cream left over to freeze.  It keeps in the fridge for a few days but I am not sure about freezing.  The best bet would be to experiment, but macadamias are a touch expensive for an experiment.

Sorry I am no more help.

I have been reading Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club books.  'Who dun its' are not my usual genre, but I am really enjoying these.

Also just finished Kevin Kwan's Lies and Weddings, another good light read.

That doesn't sound too good K Atie.  Are the Keiser exercises those at a Keiser gym?  That's where I am currently going for my physio.  The physios are very good, well trained, very helpful and encouraging, although the machines look confronting.

I heard that that theatre had closed, Chookie.  It is a great shame.  Was it the only one in Ballarat?

A "me" day sounds like an excellent idea Chookie, you always seem to be so busy all the time.

The savoury Portuguese custard tarts sound really interesting.  I had never heard of them - a whole new concept to tackle.

Yes, DH has cooked a few meals, but we are surviving mainly on takeaways at the moment.

A couple of nights ago I decided I was fit and capable enough to finally cook dinner.  I found a nice easy recipe, lemon garlic butter beans.  All I will say is, I managed not to drop anything and the meal cooked as expected - but it was very, very lemony.  I quite liked it, but DH said it was the worst thing I had cooked for a very long time.  Ah well, back to the drawing board.
