Waffle irons were mentioned a week or so ago and I gave it some thought, but held back from making a purchase. However, I could be seriously tempted by a mini waffle iron - what make / model is it please.  Ta

Just arrived back home after enjoying our favourite weekend of the year - a three day chamber music festival in Heathcote.  Always love it - eating, chatting to lots of very interesting people and of course, listening to lots of wonderful music.

Recently my 31 has been playing up and I have to think about a replacement as I do not think they service 31s anymore.  Hopefully my 31 will carry on, but it is interesting to read that a new model may be coming along.

Sausage and beans bake, vege stew, Alyce Alexandra's low carb granola - this next one is not an edible, soap scum remover (for shower screens, etc.).

I was going to make marry me butter beans, but won't have time.

Gosh, I have picked up two new ideas on here in the last week - Judy's poached eggs on mashed root veges and now Chookie's microwaved corn - I think I heard somewhere that it is easier to remove the silks if the corn is cooked, is that right?  I have always shucked the husk off and pulled the silk away before boiling them.  A whole new method for me to try!

Your mention of tomatoes, Chookie ... I saved some tomato seeds last year and popped them into seed raising mix 2 weeks ago - much to my astonishment I now have 30 tiny seedlings popping up - there are several showing up every day just now.   I hope that enough will be old enough to be transferred into a larger pot either next week or the week after.  There are way more than we need, so I will try succession planting - try to hold back some for a further couple of weeks.

That's a very productive garden, Chookie.  It's wonderful to be able to harvest your own produce.

Had farewell drinks for one of our staff - she's off to sail to Antarctica in a tall ship!!!  We are hoping that not only will be safe and have a wonderful adventure but that she will return to us later in the year - or next year.

Right, mashed root veges and poached eggs are on the menu for me this weekend.

I am glad some of my meals have caught your interest, Judy, I just made this warm lentil and sweet potato salad last weekend for the first time - it was quick, easy and tasty. https://www.thebuddhistchef.com/recipe/warm-lentil-and-sweet-potato-salad/?fbclid=IwAR3_J4MySJtPd1UWicbHjPkN15pD20CS1qEm-2_UQjo-96gq8zYFfU-y6Ys

Judy, where is your cruise off to?  I think I missed all the excitement when we were away and would love to hear more.

I love mashed root veges, Judy, but  I never thought of putting a poached egg on top of them.  Thanks for the inspiration. I must try it.

That all sounds great, Cookie.  It is inevitable that it will take a wee while to sort out all the little idiosyncrasies, but it will be well worth it, although, I must admit, not being able to reach the pedals could be an interesting challenge!!  Wishing you many safe and happy driving adventures in the future.

Your first big adventure, Cookie - great days ahead.  You are right, that tractor really is BIG!!!  Great photos.

Warn sweet potato and lentil salad; tomatoey smoked chick peas; roast veg frittata; shepherdess' pie (not a shepherds pie because mine was meat-free!)
