I’ve had that happen to me a few times KAtie, when we lived in the bush. Once was with a new car. 😀
Judy I believe Adelaide copped a severe storm. I hope everything is ok with you.

Thanks again for the good wishes with the shift. I should have taken notice of Judy and Gert about downsizing yeas ago. Although we sold and gave away mountains of stuff, we still have ended up with too much for the new house.
We have been fortunate in so many ways. The carriers have been amazing. A young 18 year old and his boss, a mammoth of a man have shifted some massive pieces of furniture upstairs. DS worked all day setting up the NBN and security system, and connected it to all our devices. When someone approaches the front door a photo shows up on my phone. I can talk to whoever it is. DD and Her friend shifted all the small and fragile stuff. At 8 pm we all, carriers included, sat down among the chaos and ate a massive pile of fish, chip, calamari rings and scallops, with cordial. The carriers are coming again on Monday .
There are lots of cupboards but I can only reach the first layer. The second layer with small steps and the top layer, no way. Fortunately the garage is massive and we have shelves along one wall. There is a door that goes from garage into pantry so I’m storing less used appliances there.
Upstairs are the bedrooms and bathrooms and a lounge area with a large window that overlooks the park. Ral spent Saturday morning watching the Archers doing their thing,
As KATIE said, the mosquitoes are bad. With all the doors open with the shift, we have had to spray several times. Yesterday was better with cooler weather and doors closed.
On Tuesday, special carriers are coming to install RAL special bed at new home. Until then we are still staying at DD.
Today more unpacking.

Yes it was cookie, thanks for asking. I was on a bus trip to different towns on the Fleurieu Peninsular but in spite of the rain, at first we did everything planned. Lunch was at the Yankalilla Hotel and the heavier rain arrived as we were boarding the bus for our trip home so we didn’t stop anywhere else. That was certainly a very scary trip, there were trees down (fortunately not onto the road), debris and flooding on the roads and many cars going the opposite direction to us had pulled over. We have a very experienced driver and we had full confidence in his ability to get us home safely with stories to tell. Back home we’d received 30mm which is a lot for my area, I could see that the lawns had been flooded but it had all drained away by the time I returned at 5.45 pm. Another great trip, we don’t let nature ruin our day if we can help it.
Chookie it’s so nice to hear that moving day finally arrived, what a well oiled team you have behind you and the finishing touch for the day was a perfect end to the hard work they all put in. I hope the rest of the move goes as smoothly.

Chookie, it's good to hear that you are finally moving in to your new home. I hope it isn't too long before you are settled in.
Yesterday was DH birthday. The family arrived with lunch from our favourite Italian restaurant and I made a trifle and fruit salad for dessert.

Chookie I am so pleased for you. Things are nearly ready for your new house.
I’m glad you are safe Judy. A Twitter aquaintance said she was quite frightened.
I got called up for jury duty yesterday. I have to report in on 12th December. Not the best time of year. I’m cross as in 5 months I would be too old to do it. Hopefully I will last the full day without falling asleep. I have to be in the city, at the court by 8.15am. That will be very hard. I’m usually still in my pys at that time of day. 😀😀😀😀
Hopefully I don’t have to sit on a trial that runs over Christmas.
On the plus side it will be a new adventure.

It will be a great experience cookie, I loved my stint on the 3 cases I did many years ago and would have loved another call up. Yes you will be back on a time schedule and your retirement lifestyle will be paused for a while, I hope you enjoy it.

What a few days , ended up at doctors extra eye Ointment to use at night !also have razor sore throat every time I swallow . Feet done tick . DD and I had gourmet pizza delivery so good . Today I’m so proud DD has been having lots of driving lessons and we even did the test circuit in pouring rain . Today she passed with flying colours in typical Melbourne weather , four seasons in one day including hail . Home to DH ! He had a traumatic day as his DM ended up in an ambulance from the farm , not quite sure what is going on but thankfully in good hands now .

I hope your MIL is ok KAtie.
Judy I just hope I don't have to sit on a trial that lasts 2 weeks as it will take me right up to Christmas. I will do everything I can before hand.

Spent the day resting , no one home and I woke to a phone call at 9am !! Lasted an hour then back to bed . Eyes are getting better although one is particularly bloodshot ,but stabbing sore throat so not a lot to eat today lots of honey lemon hot water ( even added fresh ginger and turmeric) . Not Covid tested negative . Another night on my own so many plans now not done . Hopefully I’ll sleep tonight . DH dropped his wallet in the streets of Melbourne today ! Amazing he realised and five mins later the police rang him , they had his wallet . Apparently they have everyone phone no ! Think it was his licence that helped them . So lucky .

Although annoying jury duty will be an adventure. Probably the worst part will be getting into the city in a presentable condition by 8.20am. 😀😀😀😀
Your DH was very lucky to get his wallet back KAtie. My DH’s wallet had an adventure yesterday. I washed it. He said I was just money laundering‼️ All the cards etc dried out ok.

There has been so much happening to you all recently I thought it was about time I caught up on you all.
Chookie, so happy that your new home is all but ready for you and Ral to move into. What a huge relief to be able to settle down and just begin to feel comfortable and relaxed together in your own surroundings once again. You will both sort everything out before long and your kitchen won't know what's hit it once you get back into cooking mode again!
K Atie hope you are feeling better soon, you are sounding so miserable just now.
Personally I would hate jury duty, which is funny because everyone I know who has done it said they really enjoyed it and those who haven't been called say they would look forward to it.
Last week I had a small procedure to one of my eyes, just 10 minutes at the eye specialist and out I came with a black eye.It was a chalazion on the inside of my lower lid; nothing major, just a blocked duct. In all honesty, it didn't need to be done, but I had a small redness on my lid which was driving me nuts, so I decided to go ahead with it. My eye is perfectly fine and most of the 'blackness' has gone now.
Yesterday we purchased a new TV, so the big adventure now is getting used to this one. The old one must be about 15 years old and was still working, but it was obvious the screen was loosing clarity and the sound was not the best. We will take that one up to Guildford and it can live out its retirement up there.
