Going to pick up 2 of the GK's and have them overnight.  DD & SIL are going to a NYE party, taking baby with them.
Looking forward to a fun day with the kids 4 and 2 yo.

A little bit of shopping this morning and then a friend came for lunch.

Today we went for a drive in the Adelaide hills and had lunch at a lovely pub.
DH was happy as he got to give the new car a workout and I was happy as for the first time in 2 weeks since my surgery I managed to put on a pair of jeans (I've been living in stretchy pants or pj's). Home now and tired (and back in stretchy pants!)

When we were at The Blow Hole today, DH and myself were in line behind a couple of Asian tourists. They were buying 4 cans of coke. They went to pay with a card and the kiosk only accepted cash. The gentleman pulled out the biggest wad of American dollars which again were declined. DH stepped up to the counter and offered to pay and just a few seconds later a supervisor came over and said Happy New Year, the cola is on the house.
I thought that was so lovely and showed our Aussie spirit.  :D

Katie you must have felt like royalty being able to put your jeans on. What sort of car is the new one?

Your DH offered to pay before the supervisor stepped in though Michele so hats off to him for that gesture.

Glad to hear you were able to wear normal clothes for the first time Katie, a nice day for a trip to the hills.

Yeah, if more people did random acts of kindness like yourselves and the supervisor, the world would be a better place.
