What a fab idea! I recently had a call from a friend who bought a TMX and was really disappointed in it. We spent a good 40 minutes on the phone chatting about how to get the best out of it. I gave her some recipes, including ILB's Chocolate Bimby Cake and she was much more positive by the end of our chat.

It'd be great to have people like you, chookie, to go to for various sessions on the TMX. I'll book in to the cocktail's one too and bring my swag!

You should be on the Thermomix payroll!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Chookie what an exciting time you must have had. I wish I was closer. You look just like your avatar. I think I'll have to convince DH that we need to do a trip round Australia called the TMX trip. Perhaps for 2012. We have 2011 booked with friends and 2014 booked for a National Car Meet. Gosh life is too short.

Cookie,  you would be most welcome.  Plenty of room and the DH's could talk cars.  I'm not joking. ;D

OK I think a themed national meet with cocktails as the topic is required. Who is going to organise?

Would be a big job to organise but I'm sure there would be takers  ;)

Maddy,  the bread demo came about because I attended a couple of "Back to Basics" classes ,  mostly just to support my consultant.   I noticed that a lot of woman at the meeting were not using their TMX very well and felt that they had paid a lot of money for a useless bit if machinery .   They particularly were having trouble with the bread recipe in the EDC book.   I have taught several groups of people to make bread over the years,  so why not with TMX.   My consultant said she had several clients who would be interested.   And it grew from there.  As they were leaving they asked if I would do more. So there is obviously a need.  I am not sure that HO would be impressed as they like to keep a firm hold of what is going on.  There are about a dozen members on this Forum, whom I could name, who would have the knowledge and skills to do what I did.  I would be prepared to share planning details with any one who is interested.

Anything that teaches owners how to get the most out of their machine Chookie, has to be a good thing.  I'm sure H.O. wouldn't want to hear that people are not happy with them - word of mouth is a powerful selling tool and a happy TMX owner helps sell more for the company. It is a good thing that you did and the response from our members proves that.  :-* :-*

Brilliant idea Chookie!  :-*

I'm fairly confident with my bread making skills but I'd have loved to have attended too!  ;D

How nice of you Chookie.  I meet once or twice a month some TM owners, we prepare food and have lunch together. It's always fun.

Wish I could have come too :(

I would definitely be interested if some experts were to do this sort of thing in Perth.

I was one of the lucky ones who attended chookies breadmaking demo and we had so much fun. We all shared tips and ideas with each other. Chookie also made lunch for us which was very yummy. Even though I ate so much at lunch and I was full, I couldn't help myself from eating a few slices of bread when I got home. Thanks again chookie and I am looking forward to our next get together.

Pandateddy,  I think the sharing is one of the strengths of this sort of activity.   Thanks for your nice comments.
