Anything goes for Uni
« Reply #24960 on: December 18, 2014, 11:09:13 pm »
Good morning all, first day of my holidays and I was awake before the alarm normally goes off. Still in bed reading the forum on my iPad. Going to the movies with a girl friend this morning, lunch with DH and then my 3 monthly visit to the parkinsons specialist this afternoon. Out tonight for dinner with friends.
Enjoy the staff party today JD there will be some very happy staff that receive those wonderful hampers.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

I won't be joining them for the party Jenny, just donating the baskets to make their party a little more enjoyable. Maybe I'll let them drag me down at the end if they want to thank me but I'd rather stay right out of it.

Enjoy your first day of your holidays Jenny, I hope your PD is stable.

A busy day Jenny. Enjoy the good parts of the day. Being on holidays is a plus.

Anything goes for Uni

This is how I'll be spending christmas.

I slipped in a hole a about 6 weeks back and had an X-ray a couple of weeks later.  Dr said he'd ring of there was any problem

Trouble was, the X-ray results never turned up and I found out on Wednesday it's fractured.

So I'm in the boot for a month or so and will have it xrayed again to see if it's healed
I do the best I can

How frustrating for you Chrissa, at least they are on  the right track to recovery now!
Love your cat in the picture. Cats always have a way of making you feel better by just being their and keeping you company. :D

Judy, I am sure the baskets will be well received.  :)

Chrissa, what bad luck to have that happen. Hoping  it will mend quickly for you  :)

Chrissa, what a bummer - 6 weeks after the accident.  You must have been in some sort of pain all this time and the boot is bound to slow you down over Christmas.  I hope you didn't have great plans for a lot of outdoor activities over Christmas.

The baskets went down really well and there was a nice mix of winners - one of the RNs, a kitchen worker, a care worker (one of Geoff's favourites) and the handyman.  They ate all the fruit mince pies and loved the peppermint rounds as well.  Once the party was over, the DON herself came to especially thank me for what I'd done.

That's lovely Judy.
I always feel the work is worth it if someone takes the time to say thank you.

Chrissa what a jolly nuisance. A similar thing happened to DH last year when he did his knee. After 6 weeks of nagging from me he rang the specialist, he had never received the MRI results.  This was in the private system too. :-\ :-\

JD I'm sure those hampers were much appreciated.

JD, I'm off on my water skiing holiday in two weeks.  Guess I'll just be watching😿😩

Katiej, my cat wouldn't move, she laid there for about an hour.

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm just hoping it heals because I've been doing a lot of work on the Reno at our property in the last six weeks and have been on my feet a lot, as well as a lot of walking when doing Xmas shopping.

I'm not sure what the consequences are if it hasn't healed.

It's not that sore, it aches a bit at night though.
I do the best I can
