Cookie,  sounds like you are having fun. ;D  How about crumpets instead of bread.   I think you could cook them in a pan if you don't have rings,  that is one large one and cut it into squares after it is cooked.

Traditional roast Lamb for dinner tonight.  Made EDC cheese sauce and custard to go with a pear and ginger sponge pud.  Also Isi's bread with rye flour, mashed potato and butter milk.  Ran out of buttermilk so used 1/2 yog. and 1/2 milk.  Will post pud. recipe if it is O.K.

That sounds easy enough Chookie and less fiddly too.  Would like to see a picture of that ;)

Chookie you are a lateral thinker, thanks. Saturday is supposed to be cold and wet here, we'll have crumpets.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Cookie,  do you have dried yeast ?  You need some for Thermomixer's recipe.  I am going to cook some in my crepe pan tomorrow to see how they go.  Will let you know.

Cookie made the maxi crumpets today.   Thermomixers recipe.  Made 3 large crumpets,  which can be cut into 4 each  - 12 pieces.   Only difficulty is that bottom cooked before top dried out.  Turned them over while still bubbly.   They don't look quite the same but I think they will toast well.  I will post a photo tonight,  have to go out now.  Pan was 23 cm.,  non stick,  but with a generous coating of Rice Bran oil.  Next time I will set the top under a hot grill,  I thought this would not suit you,  but id you have a grill I think this would keep the crumpet look.   Certainly a lot easier than individual ones.

Today's effort was:

Walnut, Date and Banana Loaf - EDC
Foccacia with sundried toms, rosemary, sea salt and olives - EDC

And later tonight Ill use it for:

Steamed Rice and Steamed Vegies
Possibly an Apple Crumble

Did you take a photo of the crochembouche Jo?

Here's the photo of the croquembouche I made for my dad's b'day cake - it's gluten & dairy free  :)  (Recipe here.)  A bit messy, but I was in a hurry, and it tasted good anyway!  ;D

Thanks guys   :)

I'm afraid I'm still not having any luck with sourdough, Chookie  :-\  My culture got all nice and foamy, but I didn't have time to use it that day, so I fed it and left it till the next day, but then it went mouldy.... So I scraped the mould off, re-fed it, and the next day tried making bread again, but it took forever to rise so I left it overnight and by the next day the dough was covered in mould!  (We live in a very wet, mouldy, rainforesty area!)  I had re-fed the culture, and left the lid off like you said, and two flies got in it!!! I threw it all out in disgust!!!   >:(  I've gone back to the Artisan bread - we love it, and it stays in the fridge so it doesn't go mouldy!
