My bird was a Macaw that was not hand reared. A towel was a must.  I still have scars from training and clipping.

Wow a macaw. I would love one but I think he is probably a bit large. When we were in Cairns years ago, just after the cyclone that devastated Innisfail they had a macaw that had hatched on the day of the cyclone. (At the Kuranda bird park). His name was Cyclone and he would not get off DH's shoulder.

I have just said a tearful goodbye to my weiro. He isn't well and we're worried about him. DD has taken him to an after hours vet. He only started showing symptoms a while ago. Trust him to wait until after hours. He isn't talking and won't even give me kisses and is sleeping all the time. Every time one of my birds gets sick I say never again.  But then I get another one. Hopefully he just needs medicine.
Dede I wish you lived nearer I would adopt a couple of yours. I didn't go as it was me that had to be present when our last budgie had to be put to sleep.
Oh well 'such is life' as a naughty AFL player has tattooed on his chest.  :'( :'(

That's sad Cookie but you never know, DD may come home with him after the vet has worked some miracle.  From memory though, birds go downhill very quickly though and seem harder to fix than dogs or cats etc.

Thanks Judy. Silly to worry about a bird. It is costing more for him to see a vet after hours than a human to see a doctor.  :)
I'm just waiting on a call from them or they will come home. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I hope you didn't melt too much today.

Had the a/c set on 24o Cookie, beautiful inside.  I did pop around to see Mum for 1/2 hour - going outside makes you appreciate how lovely it is inside even more.  I don't mind if it's just one day here and there, already it has cooled down considerably now so tomorrow's 31o will be a walk in the park compared to today's temp.  More to come next week though.

DD just rang to let me know that the weiro has to spend the night in hospital. Poor little boy. Hopefully good news tomorrow.

I hope your bird pulls through Cookie. It's horrible when our pets are unwell.Last week Chance was very unwell and spent my time worrying about time,After a series of fish and rice meals he was better.

Fingers and toes crossed for your bird cookie :(
