Gert, that is amazing. You have done so well. Inspirational.
A new way of eating for IBS is not so hard. There is a lot of good help from both well researched scientists and recipe developers.
4 degrees at 8 am and max of 11.

Chookie, can you eat things now which you weren’t eating when you self-diagnosed your problem? Also how many things were you eating that are now ruled out with the IBS diagnosis?

Well done Gert. You are obviously feeling wonderful.
Chookie it is worth doing almost anything to keep yourself feeling better. Are you able to have gluten?

Well done, Gert. I will endeavour to "follow in your footsteps" and see if I can do as well as you.

Judy, I suspected I had IBS so was eating FODMAP programme at home. The problem was when eating out. You just can’t trust most places to have no garlic or onion. If it has garlic powder or garlic salt they don’t count this as garlic. ! Small restaurants are better than big kitchens. The main difference in what I was doing was excluding totally what I thought was upsetting me. In fact I can tolerate a little of somethings .Example, I can have 1 slice of gluten bread, but not 2 slices. Can have SD bread with no effect. Can have some lactose but not a lot. A little cauliflower but not a cup and half. Have to watch that I am not eating a collection of the things that upset me in one meal.
There is a company producing packets of prepared FODMAP sauces and they really nice. They are called Fodmapper. Coles has some of their products. We had Lamb and Vegetable soup for lunch and for Dinner tonight , Green Curry over Chicken Marylands.

Thanks for the explanation Chookie. It’s a good thing you’re such a great SD maker.

It’s wonderful that you can have SD Chookie. I know that when I told the diabetic nurse that I ate SD bread, she pointed out to me that it had to be true SD, not what was bought in many shops. I had pleasure in saying it is true SD as I make it myself. 😀😀😀😀😀

Cookie, couldn’t agree more. We are lucky here in Ballarat as we have 3 companies that make the real deal. Yesterday I did an experiment. I mixed SD starter with eggs and tried to make pasta. The Chooks got the result. However it will work.

Still lovely hot weather here.
Walked Chance today in the wood trying to keep him as cool as possible. These past few hot days we have been hosing him off when he comes back from his walks to cool him down faster.

Another cool day here. 3 degrees at the moment.
A day free of commitments. This hardly ever happens.

Another major milestone in our renovation yesterday ... the old tin roof over our stairwell was taken away and a clear polycarbonate roof put on ... the stairwell is just overflowing with lght now. It is getting so close to completion so it is very exciting. We are hoping to get a provisional hand over date at a site meeting this afternoon.
