If you were here Amy I would be pouring peroxide into those wounds and scrubbing them with a nail brush until the bleed.  That's what I would do. Not nice. painful but it works 

In fact I would get into a hot tub , soak them until soft. Bite your tongue and scrub them hard with a washcloth. Then I would get out of the tub pour  peroxide into them and scrub .

2 weeks until the retreat... they should be healed by then... :-X
