Hello you two...
DD home safe and sound, van unpacked.
Just had to go get diesel though to get it back to hire place tomorrow! 20 mile round trip! LOL
Kitchen door went on today, dining room door frame made.
Got kitchen I want at a good price, will seal deal tomorrow and buy appliances online.
I can maybe show soem pf what we are doing through links...
This is the range of units
http://www.howdens.com/kitchen-collection/kitchen-families/burford/burford-cream/
But with less modern handles and a lighter laminate work top.
The Aga will look like this,
http://www.twyford-cookers.com/aga-cookers-c133/renovated-aga-cookers-c140/aga-twyford-renovated-2-oven-traditional-aga-cooker-p1308
. but with chrome lids. It was MUCH cheaper than this price to have our own refurbished than buy, it will be 13 amp. It comes back on 24 sept.
Page 7 the FDC 500W is the wood stove for one room from
http://www.fdcuk.co.uk/LiteratureRetrieve.aspx?ID=42642
And this one for another room
http://www.ukstoves.co.uk/product/8KW_Altea_Corner_Woodburning_Stove
( we got a MUCH better deal)
And this floor

For two rooms downstairs again I got a good deal as they'd had a previous offer so got it for £25 per pack. Deliver next month.
Kitchen floor

That's all I can find links for. I hope they work.
Another early start tomorrow, DH has to take van back and has an early appointment.
I am cleaning the kitchen again and trying to stop the spread of dust...... This will goon for some months methinkS, LOL!

Wow. Thes sites are giving us a sense of it and wow oh wow. Can't wait to see the finished kitchen. Very different from Aussie homes for sure well a least in the tropics! No wood burning anything here. Loving it. So very happy it is not me in the mess though. LOL last time I said. Never again and so it has been. No doubt you are saying the same. You will love this place for years to come.

Thanks for the links DJ, everything looks great and that kitchen is a dream.
I remember the chaos we had when we extended our previous home and re did the kitchen at the same time. It will be worth it all in the end.

DJ, love all your choices. It's going to be fabulous!
You're giving me some inspiration to get my reno steam restarted. Ran out of time, and energy, since I received my thermomix. Playing with it is more fun than running around. But I really need to get my act together
I'm in awe with your level of stamina, that's for sure

Morning/evening.
Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
The kitchen will be complicated to put in, methinks DH will be cursing!
DD and I will be looking at soft furnishings tomorrow, there is a place very near to here that sells fabrics and makes curtains. We only have one pair to alter, sold all the other curtains when we moved. Most of the windows here are not off the peg sizes, three bedrooms have very wide and short windows. Still aiming for 20 yrs here with a fair wind. I wonder (apart from CC ) if any forum members will visit!
So tomorrow DD and I take carpet samples and fabric books back before dog training in the afternoon.
Got some wood stain yesterday to try on off cuts to match new wood frames to old. The doors in this house are an amazing mix of 1600,s to 1940's. we are reusing the two we removed. When they built it in the 40,s they reused the original cottage doors and bought a load of antique doors, I found a list with the original plans. It is certainly unique and we are enjoying putting our stamp on it. I think the previous owners would be amazed at our renovations.
I also must make a template today for DH to cut a firebrick to patch the Victorian range that i found had a hole n it, so we can light the fire. It looks something like this one
http://www.britainsheritage.co.uk/antique-fireplaces/antique-kitchen-ranges.htm
I am amazed at its worth, but they are rare. If we have lots of snow and no electricity we will still be warm and fed!
And
http://www.1900s.org.uk/images-1900s-range-key.htm
This is similar to some of our doors
