This is why I try and buy local and make as much as I can from scratch.
I try and reduce my food miles where possible.
I think if we don't genuinely support local and independent businesses we will loose them.
I don't shop at Coles or Woolworths as I believe we will loose choice and local products and produce.
Thank goodness the Thermomix makes it so easy to make things from scratch.

Hmmmm food for thought ... pardon the terrible pun! 

Is this why Coles has that guy spruking on about how fresh their fresh veges are and that they are never frozen? Well goodness - one would hope their fresh veges are just that - not frozen and defrosted! Even my kids picked up on the idiocy of that advert.

Looks like I'll be taking even longer to do my shopping now and armed with a good pair of glasses so I can read the fine print. Not that I buy the bread mentioned anyway, I don't buy bread at all! (need a little cheerleader team here...go thermo go thermo go thermo ...yaaaaayyyy!)

We really are having the wool pulled over our eyes, in more ways than one.

And yes Bootobethin - buying local and having the trusty Thermomix does make our families so much better off.

Bonsai - I have that Choice mag on my coffee table, must go read that article now.

And another "wow" . . . talk about dumbing down . . everything!!! . .  in today's (Sat) SMH . . how the heck do they sleep at night?!?!?
